Adam being openly disappointed and hurt by the lack of empathy was stronger than any amount of debate lording

torres can’t understand that adam is genuinely moved and affected by a political issue. he can’t understand why anybody is. “it’s just a game why are you getting so upset?”.

it’s not real to these people.

Torres: sees human emotion brought on by empathy

Torres: I feel like this is a Gotcha

adam: what you're doing is literally tearing my religion apart and making people hate us why are you doing this?
richie: i feel like i'm getting lectured right now >:(

Richie is a soulless ghoul and I'm glad Adam was able to expose his complete lack of emotion. Cool Adam forever.

No joke, I think this interview will be studied in schools in the future when they ask “how could people have let this happen?”. The juxtaposition of Adam being a normal human being having normal human reactions against the complete soul sucking empty black hole where Richie’s humanity should be is so perfectly contrasted you couldn’t write it. It so clearly shows the different psychologies of the people who enabled this vs the people who stood against it. Adam (normal person, stood against it) is thinking about morality, decency, protection of human life, etc. and Richie (evil fascist monster, totally fine with it) is thinking purely about money, power, and himself.

Adam: I don’t like that a core part of my identity is being associated with such awful things

“I feel like I’m being lectured”

Unreal, man. Actual ghoul.

“The war was started by Hamas on October 7th” like 20 minutes after admitting that Gaza was an occupied territory. Crazy how a country just magically became occupied and randomly decided to go to war in 2023.

It’s insane how insensitive Torres was to his face

"Polls show you're less popular than trump"

"Well, ackshually, if you look at the one poll on one single issue we're winning"

Dems are embarassing.

Nobody in history has ever earned their freedom by appealing to the moral sense of their oppressor

Personally, I love that Adam does the post-interview monologue before he presents his art.

Ritchie’s weird coping grin/smile is so creepy and offputting. Like he has nothing but pre-programmed talking points. It’s like a robot talking to a human breaking down and spilling out actual feelings and pain.

The disdain bordering on almost complete disgust in Richies body language as Adam becomes more and more vulnerable and emotional is engrossing to watch

The psychopathy radiating off that man make Netanyahu blush

My guy thought he was gonna get the nelk Boyz treatment

This feels like one of those moments you can point to and confidently say "this is the exact moment Torres career was over"

Even an actual demon that studied human behavior to blend in amongst them would be able to come off more empathetic and likable than Ritchie Torres

Richie is so mean. The whole time he’s making these shitty little comments. He just throws them in.

30:50 ok hold on I'm from the Bronx too and yes there is crime here but people generally do not live in fear of bullets shooting them while walking. The fact that a Bronx politician has to paint such a negative narrative about the borough to defend his support for Israel pisses me off. Btw he was 2 when crime hit a peak in NYC, he never experienced the worst of it.
