I know it's been said to death, but rotating turret would've at least made it somewhat useful. The best use it has right now is a bridge to cross lakes, lmao.

"Tank destroyer infantry fighting vehicle" is probably the funniest concept for a vehicle I have ever heard of

Saw a comment somewhere else and it perfectly sums up my thoughts.

"AH think teamwork is when you add a gimmick vehicle that people only use once before never touching again."

There's no reason to use the Malestrom over the Bastion. This needed a rotatable turret.

Regarding this part about tank traversal issues, HOLY FUCKING SHIT! EVERY LITTLE ROCK IS THE MOST IMPOSSIBLE SHIT TO GET OVER. All caps cause i died in 6 different tanks today after getting stuck on rocks and blasted by canon turrets on Matar Bay. Actual detrimemt to the team to try and use it.

Bold of you to assume they were thinking at all releasing this thing

so called IFV doesnt even have a proper bay for its dismounting troops, it just screams "arrowhead lazily kitbashed some bs to not make a completely new vehicle"

You know it's bad when people are actively avoiding a free stratagem

Datamined stats show that the chain cannons fire the same round as the hmg. THE GIANT GATLING CANNONS DO THE SAME DAMAGE AS THE BASTION'S COAXIAL WEAPON WITH NEARLY THE SAME AMOUNT OF AMMO.

I'm more and more convinced that Narrowhead had a "free lobotomies here" day and at least half the dev team took them up on the offer

This tank is a really lazy copy paste, but even then there's still ways to fix it. Get rid of the miniguns reload and let you keep firing until they are dry, give the main gun better ergonomics and a wider angle to move, increase the rocket damage and splash radius, and I'd personally replace the smoke with a 360 airburst attack to clear enemies in your blind spots and make it more aggressive than the bastion.

I have yet to find a situation where the maelstrom is not utterly garbage.
The most useful sitatuation, where you should use it though, is, if you need ACTUAL fire support from the eagle while it drops this piece of trash on some small enemies to kill em just by weight.
You will also get more kills with that method than if you tried to make this piece of shit work somehow.
This swimming pool brick is just as agile as a building, no, an underground nuklear  bunker is more agile actually.
Oh, and its worst enemy: Microscopic stones.

The moment Phact Bay got liberated and the Megacities went away was the last I've seen of this thing. Trying to be a gunner in the Maelstrom is somehow more lethargic than being the driver and I'm just impressed they did that if nothing else.

Super Earth tanks have fixed gun emplacements, meanwhile the automaton tanks have rotating turrets.

Make it make sense.

they have an actual carrier ifv vehicle fully modeled and coded THAT THEY SCRAPPED FOR NO REASON in the backburner

I’ve found that the gunner seat is honestly the least enjoyable part of the maelstrom. Driving around you can deploy smokescreen and steamroll infantry, and passengers get a lot of protection from infantry. It ends up serving better as a beefier FRV than a tank destroyer lmao

Bastion: This chicanery? And he gets to be a tank? What a sick joke.

the hunk of junk is a joke the problem is no one is laughing

Both Bastion and Maelstrom require so many different limitations to your gamestyle that Its just not even worth the hustle for me, also even after buffs still feels kinda squishy for a tank

The Bastion has the same machine gun, with less fire rate and more consistency due to that lower firerate leads to less wasted bullets.
The AT option has 10 more shots than the Maelstrom and REFUSES to allow the player to waste the whole tank like the Maelstrom allows.

In every way I can imagine, the bastion is a better vehicle, and the Maelstrom fills no space in our armory that was not already filled.
