Today, we’re counting down the top 8 most depressing downtowns I have personally explored and filmed. To rank these city centers, I scored each out of 100 points across five core categories: vacancy, activity, physical condition, economic decline, and overall atmosphere. From once-bustling industrial powerhouses to quiet state capitals struggling with severe infrastructure decline, here are the city centers that left the biggest impression.
