I love the breadboard ones.  Having the Power and Input and Output Buffer Sections in the build really helped.

Hey! i made one of this. I have made some mods, first at the transistor gain stage and also at the tone control so it does not cut that much highs or lows at max or min tone. You're very good at explaining the circuit and how to recreate it on a breadboard, keep it up bro!

If the DIY pedal A has a slightly dark sound, it's possible that the c-input or c-coupling needs to be reduced a little, or perhaps the pot value as well.

Hey friend! Thanks for the nice video! But there are some things to think about; long leads from the components, big distance between components and capicitence from the board. Believe me; i learnd it the heard way...

B sounds more bright and with more gain, A sounds more flat and boring

If it sounds shitty, your are certainly close to the original one (I own a 1979 one, and .... errrkkkk).
