"What is scarier than being alone in the dark?

NOT being alone in the dark."

"the fact that this man tanked the gaze of the Yellow king not once but twice because he had to censor the Yellow king is amazing"

-another YouTuber

In case anyone is wondering it is generally thought as being the king in yellow which is a source of all knowledge as even seeing it allows you to know everything which may have been the reason it was censored so that others do not have to suffer the same fate . It also explains how it  knows  about the traps and the complex puzzles .

43:16 this part genuinely got me goosebumps. The erie sound slowly going lowder until he heads inside the door only for the music to stop and he sees something he wasn't soposted to see. Pure cinema.

"The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown"

21:01 Fun fact. If you go back to the part of the video where the hopper trap is first filled, the block order is plank, glass, plank, clay, and dirt, but when he checks the trap later the oder changed to plank, plank, glass, clay, and dirt, showing that whatever came through attempted to reset the trap.

"Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink behind the lake,
The shadows lengthen
In Carcosa."

For context:The King In Yellow is a Cthulhu type beast that if you stare at it, you will get blasted with knowledge of the past, present, and future and you will go insane from it and your brain will turn to mush

One of the best renditions of The King in Yellow I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. Glad to see you enjoying this one Zai.

Always a good day when meg uploads

One of the coolest things about this is how it ended. Throughout the entire thing, it has been building tension, fear, and terror..Ever second, we're waiting for the monster to jump out, we're clutching our seats around every corner. Only, no monster ever arrives, no resolution to that fear, and at the end, the monster appears, but it is hidden, blocked out. That tension has nowhere to go, no release, and so we're left. Wanting. Thinking. Wondering. What is behind that censor?

"The oldest and strongest emotion, is fear. And the old and strongest fear, is fear of the unknown" ~ H.P. Lovecraft

Nothing can ever be as horrifying as what we conjure within our own minds. I understand that this is a King in Yellow adaptation, but regardless, we are left wondering what exactly D3rlord3 actually saw. The ending, beautifully crafted turns out own minds, our curiosity, our need for answers, against us. It forces us, in our obsession that it has built over it's length, to create the monster, that which we fear. The true terror hidden.

What greater beast is there, than imagination?

He saw the twin suns of Carcosa.💛

The King in Yellow is a nice book, This ARG is a implementation of "The King in Yellow"

Beneath the sky of melting gold
Ancient echoes of a shepherd's mold
An old decay if left one goes Is unseen truth all but faux

0:47 once she heard the word mayo, she's craving to taste it. Run Avery

Edit: 32:16: I just suddenly jumpscared by an ad.

Edit: 44:04: you can see on the left at the edge of the gate, there's like a glimpes of yellow inside this gate.

Lovecraft always worked with the "fear of the unknown". The irony of that fear is that we humans are curious: we seek the unknown to expand our knowledge. Many of the works of Lovecraft (and those like him) show us the irony that our curiosity can lead to our downfall. Be seeking information we don't know, be expose ourselves to unknown dangers. What if those dangers are best left unknown? :3

36:54 fun fact: in the original drive video, derlord does actually turnback, his smartass gut feeling actually had him realizing danger or something..but for some reason after a few minutes of derlord walking away, he keeps glancing back at the house over and over again, until suddenly derlord does return to the basement and start checking things, and the rest is history
smartest arg protagonist got outdone by curiosity

but at the same time, we already heard derlord said something similar during the first tunnel. that something compelled him too.. and something similar might have happened here that explains why the sudden change of mine, the king in yellow was trying to lead derlord into the gates from the beginning and now

God dang! Not the jumpscares!

Nothing like the old feeling of "we're not alone here." to unsettle you. kinda feels like The Volguns SCP vids, especially "Not Deer"
The ending gave me the same chills as "Your survival is dependent on your ignorance."
