This is an amazing guide. If I may offer a cool trick i have found to get an air tight pocket!
Before you route the template, add 2 layers of painters tape to the barring on your router bit. that will add a couple extra thou. of an inch to guides for the template making it just a TINY bit smaller, and counteracting the introduced error you get from "tracing" anything. trust, it works!

Should the neck be finished first before making the neck pocket or will the neck still fit in the pocket if you finish it after making the pocket?
