“If you didn’t have to eat, pay for a house, or pay for transportation, you could buy King Crimson and the Sex Pistols in a few months,” recalls Oleksiy Kovzhun.

So how and where did people get music in the 1980s and 1990s? How did they learn about new bands? How were “banned lists” formed and which musicians ended up on them? Where did music lovers meet? But what were they willing to do for the sake of a new record?

And also about:
✔️ the KISS phenomenon;
✔️ how much did the Sex Pistols album cost;
✔️ how music lovers learned English;
✔️ how the KhZV performed with a Chinese choir;
✔️ why the ABBA record released in the USSR smells of oil and dead fish.

Sharing their experience are: media expert and music lover Oleksiy Kovzhun, musician and music lover Vova Pakholiuk and musician, journalist and music lover Albert Tsukrenko.
