Moon Girl sounds like a dreamy girl whose head is always somewhere else in daydreaming.

Since Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur refigures the name Moon-Boy from Jack Kirby's original Devil Dinosaur, I imagine EC's Moon Girl never crossed anyone's mind at Marvel.

When I was in Catholic School, 1960-72, there was a comic distributed to Catholic schools, Treasure Chest, which published 'education' and 'historical' comics much like early EC, they stopped publishing in 1972.

For some reason I found that two panel sequence of Moon Girl hopping a hedge and immediately popping that Venusian woman in the schnozze to be hilarious.  I never knew EC had any superheroes at all, so this made for a fascinating watch.  Thanks CK OSP!

Devil Dinosaur used to have a partner called Moon boy, so Marvel just switched boy to girl. I doubt they even thought about the original Moon girl when doing it.

moon girl has so many interesting concepts though,  the history of her kingdom, roman/greek mytholgy, the venusians, the far future, her having a recurring archvillainess with a cool design as satana, and of course i agree that her relationship with prince mengu couldve been pretty interesting, sadly i do feel most people working in the issues were mostly phoning it in...

I had no idea about where EC came from with the history at the start, that was interesting.

Thank U!!  I Love your readings you are always so positive, you have such a BEAUTIFUL gift!!
💚💜💛

I have  heard of Moon Man.But not Moon Girl.So this was a great video in highlighting her.So that I could check her out.

Shades of the Philippine super heroine Darna who was created by the boundlessly inventive comic book creator mars ravello.     Darna was created in 1948, is still an active character and a character in dozens of movies and tv shows.   Darna tv shows are still being made.

Excellent video

Great video! So enjoyed it. Glad to have you back. I note here that many of the scans are from microfiches. So these issues must be pretty rare? Not sure. And BTW, what does OSP stand for?

great job by the way

Excellent history of a heroine who deserves to be better known.

I picked up the Moon Girl Ec comics collection( on digital) a few months ago and I loved it!

I Use her, Prince Mengu and Star(let) as NPC's in my RPGs...

16:45 why is he so pretty (crying) i'm jealous 😁

You should do a video on
Magno the magnetic man ⚡️
And his arch villain the clown 🤡

An absoluitely fantastic long form informative video about this outstanding golden age heroine who deserved more! Love Moon Girl which is why I included her in my last run of my Lost Heroes Of The Golden Age tributes line. I enjoyed this start to finish CK, and enjoyed how you also spoke about the writer, artist, company company itself, and so forth that all plays a major part in the creation of & distribution of Moon Girl. As far as the later reboot version that looked Shadow-cat a bit as you pointed out, I never knew about that take on Moon Girl, I'll have to look more into that version as it intrigued me quite a bit. 10 x 10 production on this! Extra points for showing all the brilliant art and comic pages as well. Sending you all my love, support, & positive vibes. ~Riley's Harmony Haven :person-turquoise-waving-speech:
