I'm on board.
Roll the bent needle against a hard smooth surface while pressing down on it with rounded edge of rounded drinking glass. You can also drag the glass along the needle to iron out bends and wavyness.
Thanks to the AIR space channel's video on repairing bends which is the best video on the subject.
