This story really captures how terrifying a Chaos Marine is. It's like fighting a bear wrapped in a tank.

I'm a huge fan of the way this was portrayed. The absolute terror of just a handful of space Marines against an entire colony is so much more interesting than "named space marine survives all." Also really appreciated the authors choice to really drive home that taking off your helmet is dumb.

59:35 Imagine this dude at the pub for the rest of his life: “Oh yeah? Well I once killed a Chaos Space Marine!”

I started listening to these tales as a way to go to sleep. Now it's just an extension of bedtime. I can sleep when the story is told 🫡

Apart from the whole “stalked and brutally massacred by a Night Lord” thing, the description of life on a newly settled water world doesn’t seem quite as awful and bleak as something like a hive world.

Dang, survived all that and still got flayed alive

Author made space marines feel utterly harmless.

Beacon keeper was given a quick death because instead of cowering or trying to run he was willing to throw down against an Astartes in power arnor with a hand tool.

I can't fall asleep to this anymore. It's way too interesting

I watch this type of stuff to go to sleep often but I’ll tell you what, the night lords voice when you are half asleep is horrifying lol

I love that your setting the story on a ocean world. I don't think I've ever heard one set there

1:19:16 WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN NIGHT LORD MANIA RUNS WILD ON YOU BROTHER?

I put this on to fall asleep to. I succeeded before the Night Lords showed up. I could not fall back to sleep after WE HAVE COME FOR YOU.

Imagine if they made a first person horror 40k game where you got to run and hide as you are stalked by a Night Lord who's sadistic laughter is the only way to tell you where they are

I am not one being used to Warhammer, let alone 40k. I started reading gotrek and Felix in my very early days. The old world it stayed, regarding books. Warhammer 1-3 aswell. High fantasy/sword and board being my thing. Now, I do love audiobooks and audioplays aswell since my early days. In the last two months, I noticed to my delight the massive increase in available audiobooks on YouTube. Well, it's KI for the most channels. At first, I was thrilled. After the first ten or so, it became redundant, full of donation errors I could not longer ignore. The stories, mostly the same.
This channel. This stories. The storytelling. Wow. Absolutely amazing! What a great level of craftsmanship and passion. I congratulate you for this work.
