V (1983): The Cut Scene That Reveals Why the Aliens Weren't the Original Villains

V (1983) terrified audiences with its seemingly friendly alien Visitors, but the story behind the original concept was very different. Cut ideas and early material reveal that the aliens weren’t originally intended to be the true villains at all. Here’s the fascinating story of how V evolved and why its central threat was completely transformed.

A big thing in the series was how so many people worked with the Visitors even when they knew the truth.

This show had a big impact . In the days when there were mainly 3 networks. Everybody talked about each episode. Full of 70s stars The mini series format was a big deal back then too.

Such a shame people have forgotten the lessons already.

Oh man I remember my family watching this when I was a kid. The scene where the lady who was pregnant was eating raw meat. I remember that scene. We used to talk into fans so that we would sound like the people from V

So many watched this but didn't learn.
And it is happening in front of their faces.

I was only 3 years old, and I still remember the shock from seeing that guinea pig scene for the first time. lol

Instead of the 2009 reboot( which I did like), they should have done a sequel to the original series. there were many more stories to tell.

One of the best scenes in the 2nd miniseries, "V: The Final Battle" is where Stephen tells Daniel he'll serve the fleet best on a serving platter. That was great!

Greatest show of my childhood. I was obsessed with the those beautiful little shuttlecraft with their energy weapon cannons.

That guinea pig swallowing scene looked real to me at the time ... (but, yeah, I was still a kid).

I remember that, and the guy's frozen hand shattering scene!

I remember this series very well. I was only 12 years old then. This was a fantastic series!

NBC was and still is notorious for decision making by committee. Johnson wrote a sequel novel that takes place about 20 years after the end of the miniseries. It changes some things from the miniseries and series...

I remember this documentary.

I was in junior high when this show came out.
I never missed an episode. I thought it was fantastic.
I was the oldest and mum wouldn't let my brother or sisters watch it.
Made it even better !
