TRIBUN-TIMUR.COM – Tensions between armed groups in Rakhine State have escalated again.

A video circulating on Telegram on Thursday (October 1, 2026) shows the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) launching a surprise raid on an Arakan Army (AA) camp in the Taung Bazar area.

The short video shows ARSA members surrounding and launching coordinated attacks from multiple sides of the camp.

Intense fighting in the area of ​​the raid indicates a direct clash between the two armed factions in this volatile region.

The ARSA militants involved in the raid appear to be equipped with heavy and diverse weaponry.

Some of the weapons identified in the footage include an MA-10 RPG launcher equipped with MR-1 rockets, a BA-63 rifle, an MA-3 MK II carbine, an MA-1 MK II rifle, and a Chinese-made Type 56 assault rifle.

The video concludes with a glimpse of the ARSA operation's success. Several members of the Arakan Army (AA) were apparently detained and subdued at gunpoint by ARSA militants.

As of the publication of this report, there has been no official statement from the Arakan Army leadership or local authorities regarding the number of casualties or material losses resulting from the surprise raid on Taung Bazar.
