I adopted an 17-18 ear old Yorkie about 10 years ago.  She was dumped in an industrial area.  Half blind and rotten teeth and a few mammary tumours.  I adopted her and paid all her vet bills.  Because she totally deserved it.  She had a fierce spirit to live and it was a huge blessing to watch her fur come back and see her put on weight and take joy in life. The first time she wagged what was left of her tail made me cry. We only had her for 18 months but she died being part of our family and I love her still.

Edith is such a sweet soul. Im the one that originally found her and brought her to the spca! She was wandering alone on my country road.
I wish I was able to adopt her 😭💓 I miss her cuddles!

She is now Lady Edith of Dogton Abbey. Hopefully, her new family will treat her like the distinguished and wondrful lady she is.

Tonight my mom’s void baby, Berlioz, escaped. He hid under the neighbor’s truck, and went up inside the undercarriage. It took 40 minutes to coax him out. What finally worked was putting on his favorite YouTuber - you! He heard your voice, and crawled out enough for my mom to grab him. We love your content, but now we love it even more! Thank you!

Your compassion and love for our 4 legged friends restores my faith in humanity.

I got lucky and adopted my cat before he ever went up for adoption. I said i didnt care what the cat looked like at all, I asked the rescue to find a friendly, social cat as a buddy for my cat and they brought 5 cats out for me to meet. Then, the woman says well theres one more, we havent even named him yet. He was found with the TNR program and was too sweet to release. They kept him and in the 2 weeks he was there, he made it his mission to comfort and cuddle with the other animals waking from anesthesia. But he was anxious and his fur was falling out either from stress or allergies. Shes like he's my favorite in a long time and i dont want to let him go but he deserves a home. And of course he was the perfect fit! Hes been with me for almost 2 years and it seems like hes just always been here. He and my senior cat absolutely love each other. And i still send updates and pictures to the lady at the rescue who loved him.

Edith looks like a Westie mix. She acts like one with her feisty no nonsense attitude that will let you know she doesn’t like something. The fearless terrier mind set. She’ll get adopted quickly if her medical problems are not too serious. I wish her all the best. Good luck ! You did a wonderful job with her.

The way her head popped up when you did the sanitary shave like "Well I never!"

“Stress farts”……that’s definitely what I’m going with from now on 😂

this is how i behave when i need to shower and shave my legs too

Does anyone else try to comfort the dogs through the screen?

The fact that she only barked through all of this and only got defensive for the nails, despite ALL of this being completely new to her?
Yeah, she's a sweet dog, who must've had a good socialization.
I hope her tumors are treated successfully and she gets the happy forever home she deserves ❤️❤️❤️

Wherever she came from, she clearly seemed somewhat used to bathing and grooming.  Even, if she was a bit anxious and not a huge fan of the dryer, she wasn’t completely freaking out as if she’d never experienced anything like it before.

Vet here: Luckily a high percent of dog mammary tumors (at least in the US and Canada) are benign and will not metastasize elsewhere, but should always be removed as they can start benign and turn malignant over time. Any intact females should be spayed at the time of tumor removal as well, as it does decrease the risk of developing new tumors.

Risk factors for malignant mammary tumors are being intact more than 3 years, pregnancy, obesity, large breeds, certain small breeds like Yorkies, Maltese, and Poodles, and living outdoors. Diet was not found to be a factor.

The shelter doggo videos are always one or the other: either extremely fearful erratic doggos or extremely well behaved friendly doggos

Whenever you have a nervous whimpering dog I empathize with the poor thing because I feel the exact same way when I go to the dentist or doctor! 🐕🐩🐈

I'd bite too  if someone called  me a porker

I love it when people name pets with really old fashioned names. I had a turtle called Myrtle and a cat called Basil

Poor little Edith. I won’t get into a long boring story, but I was at a patient’s house (human) and watched him mistreat his little dog who resembles Edith. That little dog got yelled at for nothing and cowered away all the time. I saw the owner aggressively kick-slide the dog away on the tile floor into the chair legs a few times, the dog was very nicely asking for a treat and the owner complained about the begging fat dog. The dog was only a little chunky and obviously got that way by the owner feeding it too much crap. I ended up telling the owner maybe not having a dog would help his irritation and he informed me the dog was his buddy. I remarked I’m glad I wasn’t his buddy. You just never know what kind of environment these poor dogs have lived in. I know much worse abuse happens but it reminds me of humans who treat their children that way and wonder why they have behavior issues.

When you said "bitey" I thought of Shaun of the Dead when his mum says the zombies are a bit bitey.
