What the wife says: The therapist is going to attack me!
Translation: The therapist is going to call me out for being a jerk because I'm mad someone is existing well without my permission!

It's been 7 years since that nutty wife from Story 1 pulled that stunt. I hope OP escaped that relationship.

I had an abuser who refused to go to couples counseling because "the counselor will just take YOUR side on everything!" Why would they take my side if you are as right about everything as you pretend to believe you are? Because you are an abuser, and you are wrong. And you just told me you know it, and you don't care.

Story 1: Kudos to how SMART Laura is. She kept that paper trail.

The wife launched an unhinged, obsessive defamation and stalking campaign against a random woman. OP’s problem is bigger than finances. Which is impressive in this economy.

friendship test: i lie to your face, and then you follow the secret instructions i have in my head. yes... foolproof.

Story 2: Gotta love how those who say "you don't turn your back on family" are the ones who turn their backs most often.

"I think she truly believed she was exposing a terrible person"

Dude is lying to himself. She's been pretty crystal clear she was just petty and jealous of an ex friend because she was fit, had an attractive husband, had a great paying job & I'd wager also because she was expecting a baby. Shes not remorseful. She's not sorry.

Story one is beyond divorce material, that woman needs to be sectioned.

I'm with Oz. I couldn't be with someone who was capable of hurting others like this. AND showed no guilt over it.

@loopyloon5401 1 month ago

I remember the first story, the wife torpedoed her husband's financial future over petty jealousy & had no remorse for it. I hope OP divorced & dipped, that woman's a liability.

"She would tell me that Laura deserved every horrible thing that my wife did to her, that Laura was a shitty person, a narcissist, a liar, and just overall a scumbag."
Notice how there's nothing specific in that list? That's what they do when there's nothing to justify the abuse, they throw a list of labels and can't produce a single example of the other person being shitty. They're aware that they're lying or being petty.

Brother, you need to either demand individual therapy or divorce. She got sued for harassment, but this is also stalking. Like this is fucking creepy.

Edit: wow, that's a lot of likes. Also please stop arguing about whether I'm "dumb" for adressing the reddit OP directly (although I do appreciate the energy). I do not care if I look "dumb" to a stranger on the internet lol😂 it's okay

Learning your partner is a monster? Yeah, that's worth divorce.

I have to stop. Missed wedding:
Her mom brushed off the wedding because she thought her daughter was looking for attention and her soon-to-be son-in-law wouldn't actually love her enough to propose? AND SHE SAID THAT THINKING IT WOULD BE AN EXCUSE?!

Story 1 sounds like such a lose-lose situation. On one hand, I’d never be able to feel comfortable in a relationship with someone who’d spend so much effort trying to destroy someone else’s life over a petty grudge. On the other hand, trying to leave someone like that sounds absolutely terrifying

story 1:the only thing worse then an evil person, is a stupid evil person

@kyubbiman2255 1 month ago

For Op in story 2 wanting your parent's approval even after they pretty much discarded you is not pathetic. It is a completely normal feeling to want approval and validation from the people that birthed/raised you. A parent saying they are proud of you and the choices you've made is one of the most powerful drugs in the world. It's you being told that you made good decisions and for all your stumbles and falls what you have done in life matters and is seen. The comfort and the reassurance that comes with it make you feel good about yourself. Parents hold so much power over their kids and the ones that abuse it or take advantage of it are monsters. The ones that use it properly are the role models that kids need.

Jesus. I don't even wanna IMAGINE how much money they got sued for if it'll take four years to pay off, and they can't even afford the therapy they need!
