As a person with DID (dissociative identity disorder - or "multiple personalities", as most people know it, though that term is GROSSLY inaccurate and outdated) as a result of surviving prolonged/repetitive torture in childhood, god. This one hits so hard.

The amnesia, disorientation, confusion at what you did and didn't do and what is and isn't real. Going about daily life feeling so disconnected from everything, like a spectator, unable to really feel anything about anything. Being unable to string coherent sentences together because your brain perpetually feels like scrambled eggs. Having people come up to you and tell you that you said things you don't remember saying - if you remember meeting the person in question at all, that is. E.g. having my therapist ask me how I'm doing after a very stressful week, and realising ... I don't remember the week in question, at all. Oftentimes my response to her question will be "I was doing bad last week?" and I'll need to read back my journal to see what another identity/part of me/alter wrote down about it, how they felt. "Apparently I felt like x, according to this note."

I never comment on videos, but this one resonated so deeply with me I felt I had to. I really, really hope the creator finds safety and healing. Dissociative disorders are genuinely something I don't wish on my worst enemy. They're so so so isolating and genuinely hellish to navigate. It becomes your new normal, sure, but it stays lonely to simply be unable to connect to the world, because your brain can't process it as real.

Been a long time since something made me feel so seen and understood. Just really sad that it required so much suffering to create.

No matter what you do, you can only get glimpses of the happiness you once had. That is the most accurate thing I've ever heard about depression.

It’s worth mentioning that at 22:54 the player isn’t awoken by mobs, but by an old mechanic of beta Minecraft where you could suffer a “nightmare” and be awoken in the night, spawning a mob. Maybe links to that idea of a sleep disorder you mentioned.

I was expecting somewhere a note saying "This is fictional. The situation, the characters, the story. All of it." But its not. This is a real situation with a real person dealing with real issues. I'm so glad Shroompie has more positives in their life and I really hope they're feeling better. I also am so glad you brought this to light and Shroompie can hopefully have more support as well. Thank you.

As a person with depression and antisocial tendencies, Hearing them laughing at the chicken sphinx at the end made me smile because I also find joy in weird/strange things and laugh uncontrollably at them... The joy of laughter is great for the soul.

What seemed to originally be a really charming dreamcore series really ends up hitting home once the whole thing about the war in Ukraine hits. As someone currently stuck in the same place and trying really hard to get out it genuinely broke my heart hearing Shroompie talk about literally the same experience I had of playing games to take my mind off of shellings landing dangerously close to home, or noticing people and especially kids just get used to it all and go about their life like nothing's particularly different. This is a genuinely amazing and tragic piece of art. Thank you so much for shedding light on this series troney Q w Q,,

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this. What an incredible piece of art, both Shroompie's story and your video on it. Such a sensitive story is difficult to grasp, and yet you did in a manner that was as respectful to the artist as it could've been.

I enjoy the loose ends scattered around. This arg looks like it’s both a cry for help and a coping mechanism. I believe there is a lot of truth within this story and I think the loose ends that don’t really tie back in fully just go to prove how real Shroompie’s struggles are. This isn’t just a fictional art work, these are real feelings, real experiences, real trauma illustrated in a way that allows shroompie to understand and cope with these emotions and situations.

I think that you may have missed one thing, the mushrooms. They are mentioned so much, it may be a stretch, and it's only my theory, but they apear so often. He's putting them in almost all of his mc House's, he's starting to hallucinate while in the mushroom house, being so excited when spawning near them, often having them in his inventory, etc. I think that it's hinting at using some hallucinogenic mushrooms, and maybe that's an additional cause of his issues, the cause of the trippy scene in "A little lost" even if it's not mentioned directly. I think that it may be a thing. It could also explain the animals talking to shroompie much more clearly. Also he's colleting just as much flowers as mushrooms which could be connecting to making the suspicious stews? Even if it wasn't a thing in those versions? The flowers thing is surely very unlikely  to be actual, but the mushroom thing could be true, or it's just a reference to his name which I'm dumbly overthinking.

i used a shroompie clip for a video i made about the different eras of minecraft history and didn't really check further into the channel and had no clue about any of this, thought it was just a simple minecraft lets play channel

I immeadiatelly called that this wasn't an ARG, but rather a cry for help pretty early on, usually when people portrait very heavy topics such as this, is to raise awareness to it, either because their learned about it, it happened to someone they have ties with, or... themselves, and by God, does it hurt to have the sinking feeling that the story you were reading was just the writer trying to cope, and, except of course, then I learned that the hole is MUCH deeper than just the mental illnesses, do you want to know what is worse than having DID, insomnia and memory loss? Having all that, AND living on a active war zone

The part where Shroompie traps the chicken trying to have a conversation with him hit hard... if you know, you know.

Personally I LOVE playing Minecraft ARG videos in the background while I build stuff in this game so I hope you can imagine what I felt when the video’s tone shifted from a casual ARG analysis into something so much more painfully real.

I’m gonna be honest for a while I was still thinking that this was all a part of a fully fictional ARG like SeventyBroad. This is the first time in a long, long while when I’ve genuinely been terrified by a YouTube video.

Also thought the video I though that their accent sounded very familiar, but I wasn’t able to put my finger on what it was, so the reveal of that bomb exploding was genuinely both a shock and a moment of realization.


I hope this doesn’t come off as extremely insensitive towards them because I was genuinely moved by this and I can only wish them the best. The last thing I’d want is for my coping mechanism to just make me one of those pumpkin heads (which tbh I don’t entirely understand like, even when I thought those were just normal fictional YouTube videos, I felt everything but ease).

Man, this video was an emotional rollercoaster. I was invested in this series but didn't really see how terrifying it was until I began to pick up on the clues and realize that all of the events and feelings described by Shroompie were genuine and real. This series wasn't just a little horror series that they decided to make for fun, but rather a way to vent about their struggles with life and mental issues. That moment with the bomb especially made me so disturbed and sad for them, and I genuinely started to feel depressed about the whole thing. But, that last video at the end of the video was really heartwarming and comforting to see. I genuinely smiled seeing the goofy chicken build and hearing Shroompie break into laughter over it. I'm happy that Shroompie is in a semi-better place than they were during the creation of this series, and I wish the best for them. Anyways, cool and awesome video 👍

As someone with depression, fighting 3 (probs more) years, this hits too close. Loosing ability to do basic stuff without meds, failing my studies (overworking myself for wich made me depressed in a first place), loosing close ones because i am "too much" this whole series feels painfully familiar. I genuinely pray that shroompie will get out of this hell. And thank you for reminding me that i am not alone. Even when its really hard now

I desperately need this to be purely an arg and not someone truly crying out loud for help. if it is real i hope shroompie gets all the help needed and lives a happy life
