“I’m not in it for the money.”

“I went around this whole area here to provide for the breakers.” 😂

Last dude gives off such scumbag aura, not in it for the money but just hoarding wax waiting to flip it. The Pokémon is a giveaway homie is a scalper

If your videos were 2 hours long they wouldnt be long enough. Thumbs Up!

Im not sure if "I wasnt in it for the money" really vibes with the "from 2019-2022 me and a group of guys used to go buy out all the card boxes and resell to breakers". lol

I love seeing nice normal people online. Show respect to eachother is all you need to do.

That last end negotiation by Ty is definitely a psychological master play. Well done! As soon as Ty said it, you knew that the seller would accept the deal instead of going through the hassle of splitting the collection.

This show serves as a reminder that you collect for you. Not to impress others, hand off to your kids (GASP!), or an investment of some kind. There are always exceptions, but my collection is worth maybe 20% of my spend, and worth $0 to those I care about. I never want to have that look on my face you see at 18:40; and you see in every one of these videos. Not just the realization of fortunes lost, but the tens of thousands of hours lost to the hobby... hours that could have been spent on other truly productive activities. If you set time boundaries and collect only for you... you should never have that 18:40 moment or find yourself bargaining for an extra couple grand on a collection you spent your life's work accumulating.

Remember people, you can’t put a U-Haul behind a hearse. Planning what to do with collections is important.

That was a great negotiating tactic by Ty. The second fella wanted a little more than Ty was offering and seemingly wasn't going to budge, so Ty made him break up the deal in his mind by saying "Let's split it up and you keep the retail and reprice it out". This instantly made the guy recalibrate the value that he was assigning to his product and made the lower offer acceptable. Great negotiation.

I think Jeff is one of my favorite collectors you've had, such a nice stand-up guy.

Ok, obviously this man has spent as much on his collection, as he has on his own home, but if you’re making Ty come back again for more cards, don’t show him several boxes, ask for a price, and have it contingent on pulling out cards you don’t want to give up. You should have already pulled those out before asking him to come back.

Saying to throw in something from his radio history was a 4D chess move. Smooth stuff Ty

I could hang out with Jeff all day! Great guy!

That homie is selling his cards well, and the prospective buyer is opening up with his willingness. Great situation for BOTH!!!

I live about 20is minutes up the river from Jeff. I recognized him out one day after the previous video and the man was just as kind in person, if not more so. Chatted about the Steelers for a few lol just a truly great human.

@markwaltersmedia6956 1 year ago

My favorite episode yet! I love the balance between the human element and the cards. People obviously wanna see the cards but you’ve got a style that no one else has when making content like this, specifically when it comes to understanding the people behind the collections. Great work man

That split up question at the end was how you close the sell on 60. Top level negotiation tactic. Well done

13:08 nothing is sentimental but suddenly it's tugging at his heart strings. ahah. Some cards always have some sentimental value whether we like it or not.

Incredible story telling.

Tje best part of deal 1 was asking him for a signed picture of his DJ days it made the guy feel good and important. Amazing way to get a deal done and make the other person feel like they got the best deal!
