High Lords of Terra: It’s good to be in charge.

Guilliman: Look at me, I’m the Captain now.

I love how the Assassinorum high lord just played double agent on the anti-Roboute coup, to give a "I told you so" to the regent one day.

Im never not going to love the immage of Ultradepressed Guilliman with a cigar

“Guilliman is the most staunch atheist in human history” sir the emperor is still sort of technically alive

“Functionaries are like books in a library: the higher they are, the least they serve”
-George Clemenceau

28:33 the Chruch was largely responsible for maintaining our pre-existing knowledge and attempting further advancement. We didn't record much because entire towns were dying in plagues and raids

1:55 Alpharius responding to an argument by doxxing is incredibly accurate

Valdor, while being held down by 8 sons of Horus terminators and stabbed, punched a terminator armored Astartes captain to death in less time than it took them to grab his arm again.

The only things I know about the High Lords of Terra
* old cybrogs
* just ok enough at their jobs to prevent the Imperium from exploding
* The minotaurs obey them/are their lap cows.
* TTS made them funni

Short history: The dark age, for the most part, only applies to a small period in northern Europe after the collapse of the western Roman empire. About 200 years until the 800s with the arrival of historians such as Bede and the revolutions in literature that are the romances during the Carolignian revolution. The biggest reason is that few documents are copied down already, and pretty much every manuscript of a major roman or Greek work is from the middle ages, not the classical period, because of time eroding them. In Italy and others, this never happened, and writing remained at the pace of pre collapse of the western half of Rome. I.e. what survived survived because copying anything sufficiently long can take months.

These facts led to the term dark age being abandoned and only really existing during the Rennisance and through Edward Gibbons as an exaggeration of the perceived backwardsness of thought and bad assumptions that perceived high quality literature survives.

Fun fact, we do not have the other major works of the epic cycle, which contains the works of Homer, the sequels to prometheus bound, the histories written by Emperor Claudius, several major works of Historians or the first poems written in Latin. But we have the Fabulae, a grammarian's oversimplification of myth for school boys. Works only survive if you can make copies, and sometimes you just don't know what to copy until it's too late.

I cannot look at the Provost Marshal without hearing his TTS voice.

1:50 plus the Custodes (apart from Guilliman) are the ones that are trusted to know everything that is possibly going on in the imperium, as they are the bodies and voice of the emperor himself.
So even though Trajann or the Captain-General isn’t available. There will always be Custodes present, whether in the form of a council member or a witness:

The church was actually one of the few places still teaching reading and writing in the dark ages.  It was quite expensive and many secular powers disapproved of it as either silly, a waste, or evulz.  The written word was one of the bigger targets of both raiders and invading armies, sadly.

And the 12th Lord is obviously the Lord of the Dance.

Some of the most evil non-chaos people in the 40K universe.

You literally have to be forklift certified to move the holy machine man for The High Lords of Terra representatives

I still think it's really funny how The High Lords tried to stage a coup against Guilliman. "Ah yes,let's try and overthrow a Primarch! Nothing could go wrong!" Flawless Logic 😂

Not on the medieval darkages, the church was very much very pro writing everything… The church was just horrible understaffed in relation to its need. Also lot of what was written was lost in the high and late middleages, where old manuscripts often would be cannibalized for bookbinding af new books

The TTS interpretation of the High Lords is more or less canon.

Rip Schlong-Top Ecclesiarch Decius, killed by a high ranking Sororitas if i’m correct.
