I'm glad people are still playing this game, while it is aggravating that the game has barely been updated over the 12 or so years it's been out, I do enjoy the game and seeing others enjoying it to. You don't have to laugh to break off an event you can also just interrupt it by going closer to them until it says eavesdropping and then wait till they notice you
