We Bought This 14k Mile Yaris Blind… Big Mistake?

Are we going to loose money on this one???

We thought we'd found something rather special… a 14k mile Toyota Yaris 1.5 T Sport with the potential to be a great modern classic.

The problem? We bought it blind.

Turns out the car isn't as it was described to us!!

In this video, we take a look around our new Yaris T Sport, going through the good points, the bad points & all the issues we've discovered since it arrived.

Then we take the car out on the road to find out whether it actually drives like a genuine 14,000-mile example.

We'll also discuss what needs to be done to the car before it heads to auction, what preparation makes sense & perhaps the biggest question of all…

What will it make at auction?

Guesses in the comments below!

It's so easy to forget how small they were compared to modern cars!

If buy it. I live them. Only owned the 1.0 and have been wanting one of these for years that hasn’t been abused.
The cosmetics I can live with and I think that door crease can at least be improved if not made perfect.
Anglia car action.
I will have to keep my eyes peeled for it.

That’s a £3k max car
I recently bought a 2008 Yaris 1.3vvti with 21k miles for £2250, and the whole left side has been poorly repainted and some other scuffs.
The whole underside is mint, no rust at all, garage kept for 15y.
I don’t mind the aesthetics for this price.

Lovely little car, and it’s gutting whenever cars aren’t exactly as described, but as we know, there’s always a margin of error that has to be built in. I remember someone telling me that the reason why we can be disappointed, is we’re holding others to the same standard we have. Still a lovely car at £5k though, and £5k doesn’t buy you much these days!

That's such a shame. Cool little things and would have been a great grab if it was as described.

That’s a real shame about the cosmetics. I own a Yaris T Sport that only has 15k miles on it, and it’s one of my favourite cars! They are extremely underrated and values are on the up, especially clean, standard, ultra-low mileage examples. Toyota’s Thunder Grey (1D2) paint is very hard to match, plus models like yours with the Protection Pack (black side mouldings) are even rarer.
