Imagine taking Tolkien’s masterpiece, throwing it into a blender, forgetting to put the lid on, and just watching it splatter everywhere. But don’t worry—Amazon’s there, wiping it up with a billion-dollar paper towel.

Makes me so sad when i hear my relatives and ramdom people talking about how much they like this show. Not even because it's an insult to Tolkein, but because it shows how horrible our modern standards are for entertainment

Is "Heal yourself" the Middle Earth equivalent of "Touch grass"?

bro shit like Agatha - Apathy all along - makes you appreciate when shit like RoP is at least entertaining to make fun of

Do you know why a turd floats and a gold bar sinks?
The turd is a putrid result of consuming something else, basking in what is good, and eliminating what is left. There is no care, no effort, no skill and no passion put into its creation. And most living things hate it. It will float in the water, or rot on the ground, forever shunned and eventually will crumble into nothing.

A gold bar, on the other hand, is a rare thing of beauty. It took skill to dig the tunnel, mine the ore, smelt down the metal, and forge it into a bar. It takes passion, craftsmanship, and effort to create something that will be valued by all who see it. Even if it sinks to the bottom of the ocean, years later it will be found and have even more value.

The hubris to think they could just "write Tolkien" is the most baffling aspect of this entire project.

All will be saved if, in Season 3: Waldreg the White returns to flood Numenor, the Harfoots all get horribly killed and Galadriellellle is revealed to be a Nazgul all along and the real Galadriel was being held in her basement or something.

"Help me earn the name Teleporno"

Saxophone wails in the background.

U guys are exactly right about why they don’t change actors for Sauron. They made it for people like my wife. Someone who is doing shit while watching tv. Grocery shopping on her phone and looking at facebook and making dinner for the kids. Not invested at all but still watching bc it’s a new show. Nothing about it grabs u bc it’s just content. Nothing against my wife. Bc she does get into shows that are great and need to be invested to understand it but this shite is just something to play in the background

33:57 after the volcano, I accepted that nothing can kill her

When I was 16 and started laying the groundwork for my novel, I had one of the main female characters betray the party because the bad guy was evil and hot. No other real reason that I could think of other than that. I just saw the girls who would leave their boyfriends for the evil hot guy in class and I figured that must be what motivated them. And now ... I'm seeing people do the same damn thing but being paid millions of dollars to write that trash. The difference, is that I grew to recognize that it was trash, and I didn't keep trying to push it out there.

Amazon: Disney! Two already!
Disney: I'm on seventeen!
Amazon: Wha-?! I'll have no circle ear outscoring me!

I swear to Ilùvatar if they pull that Adar = Celeborn crap that people were theorizing during s1 I'm filing a complaint to the UN

I wish season 2 had never come to me.

I can't believe anyone could actually click on Amazon prime and then decided to watch Rings of Power over Clarkson's farm.

I think you meant Lord of Ring

Are we going to ignore the Yoda laugh at 5:10😂😂😂

The scenes were filmed in holland you see.  This is why they needed to use dutch angles.  Its the only kind they had on hand.

Regarding the founding of Rivendell, they DID kind of get it right.  In the books, the Dwarves showed up at the sack of Eregion to cover the retreat of the Elves, including Elrond, who led the survivors away and found Rivendell.
