Why Every Man Should Study Tywin Lannister

Every man should study Tywin Lannister. The problem is that the motivational edits only ever show you half of him. In this video I break down both halves of the most competent man in Game of Thrones, starting with the father who made him and the massacre that turned his name into a threat. We get into the small council scene where he sends King Joffrey to bed without raising his voice, how he caught Arya Stark with one word at Harrenhal, the negotiation where he beat Olenna Tyrell, and the lesson he gave Tommen right next to Joffrey's body. Then we get into the part the edits skip: the Red Wedding math, the way he treated Jaime, Cersei, and Tyrion, and what happened to the Lannister name after his son shot him on the toilet. Take his discipline, and leave his idea of family. Let's get into it.

Came here expecting "How to be a chad," much better than i expected. Tywin had his positives, but his negatives outweighed those in the end. He was too cold and calculated and his family never loved him because of that.

I can relate to Tywin in the part of what people think when they hear a last name. I never knew my biological father. He was a terrible man who left my mother pregnant with me & wanted nothing to do with me until he married a different woman & she couldn’t give him children. My mother still pregnant left to the states & had me there. I only have his last name & for a long time I was ashamed at it. Until I grew up & decided that my last will turn from something tragic to something worth remembering in respect. It’s what my children will carry. Teaching them responsibility & accountability of one’s actions matter. So that when they look at their last name they remember they had a father who did his best to be honorable, fair, & loving.
