Is man required to repent of their sins in order to be saved?

Early writers who thought of the ransom as paying off Satan included Origen of Alexandria ( Commentary on Matthew 16:8) and Gregory of Nyssa ( Great Catechism 21–23).

Early writers who thought of the ransom as paying off God the Father included Gregory of Nazianzus ( Orations 45.22) and John Damascene ( Concerning the Orthodox Faith 3.27).

Story of my life, asking the questions people were too afraid to ask, in the workplace and in the church. It’s always got me into trouble! Love you both.
I’d like to ask Baxter (based on his observation of me at the conference not knowing what I’ve been given) how we can gain more revelation in what deep down I know to be true.

On the "ransom" deal, which we've been served as a bad meal, it is a big deal. David Bentley Hart in  his "The New Testament, a Translation, has in Mark 10: 45: "for even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve and to give his soul as the price of liberation for the many."

😅How to understand the crucifixion certainly takes up some band width. Two thousand years later we're still at it. I wonder why. The original story seems to leave us wondering , "how do we understand that", what understanding do we get from that? I just assumed that they took the death I created into themselves and offered me more life (forgiveness). So in other words they ransomed me from death with their own life, or in other words they, the creditors accepted the loss (I created by acting against life (them) ) and offer me more more credit. All a bit simple I know, but it works for me.

PSA doesn't make sense.  If the penalty for sin is death, and Jesus took the Wrath of God, paying the penalty for sin, why are those in Christ still paying the death penalty?    Because the Wrath of God is the Second Death, which will not be based upon sin – it's appointed to every man once to die (pay the penalty for sin), but will be based upon rejecting God's offer of forgiveness of sin, faith in the Righteous, sinless Son.  He experienced death in the flesh that He didn't deserve, so that God could raise Him to eternal life as the Firstborn of the new creation of man, the Redeemed human race.   His Righteousness (born of God), substitutes for the unrighteousness of the sinful son, Adam, for those who believe in Jesus Christ.

Those who believe in the Son are born again, and the Father in Heaven adopts them as His Children, and their inheritance is righteousness and eternal life through faith in the Sacrifice of His Son.  For those who won't believe in the Son, they're condemned already, because they're only born once, so that their "father" remains fallen Adam, and their inheritance is unrighteousness and the Second Death (eternal casting away from God).

What is the name of the McDonald book that was mentioned in the video? TIA

Maybe ransom is about revealing the father to the devil
