Let’s give a shoutout to the real MVP in this movie, Po’s pants, for never tearing despite all they’ve been through. 🤣

Tai Lung went in for a legendary battle and instead got a looney toons fight

I will never not laugh at the tiny “mew” when Tailung bites his own tail- it’s like that pain went back deep😵‍💫

It doesn’t look like anyone specifically caught it, but the moment when Po fed Tai-Lun his own tail, and he meowed like a kitten is my favorite. I live for that mew, it is hilarious.

"It's nothing."  A lot of people see themselves as nothing and need validation from someone or something to not feel like life isn't meaningless especially after they worked so hard to be more

Imagine having dreams planted in your mind, working hard to achieve them, then the person that planted those dreams turns their back on you and you spend 20 years on your knees locked up, unable to move all because you got mad. You feel abandoned, betrayed, let down and then you get fucking nuked because you're trying to get what you were promised throughout your whole life. Tai lung was right, but he went about it the wrong way because he was raised and trained to believe he was mythical being and not raised or trained to have humility

Fireworks ain't cheap. I wonder how much the fireworks Po used in this movie would have cost.

The other defining aspect is after the scroll reveal, when Tai Lung hit Po, and the energy rebounded into his counterstrike... Po suddenly has this expression of realization - he saw that he could actually beat Tai Lung. That grin itself is worth the price of admission... along with myriad other moments.

I watched this movie a million times as a kid, but watching it as an adult, I love how it rewards you for paying attention to every detail. The fireworks, the tree, not being able to find the right nerve, it all comes back. Nowadays, movies and shows “cater” to you by spelling out everything and it’s annoying if you actually pay attention. This (along with 5000 other reasons) is why movies like this are still treasured and will continue to be for years.

Nothing in this fight was an accident. Po had a plan from the start.

He knew he couldn't out-fight Tai Lung, that's silly. If Tai Lung focused on him seriously as an opponent he was toast in seconds.

So Po weaponized his obsession with the Dragon Scroll. Kept Tai Lung chasing the Scroll, focused on the Scroll, ignoring Po, exhausting himself, taking 'incidental' hits from Po along the way bit by bit, until he was so battered and exhausted he could barely muster Kung Fu on Po's level.

Then Po, who had been conserving his energy the whole time, turned to offense while Tai Lung was too exhausted to use his hyperaggressive, and very much nondefensive, Leopard Style effectively anymore... and he was fully fresh still and ready to fight properly. Then he let Tai Lung have the Scroll and emotionally destruct himself with the fact he didn't understand it. Causing him to lpse focus as he was distracted by the 'contents' of the Scroll and become totally incapable of fighting effectively or with a cool strategic head.

There are no accidents... Po might have been an absolute novice at the physical parts of Kung Fu, but at the level of philosophy and strategy he was on Shifu's level before he ever even saw Oogway.

"It's okay, I didn't get it the first time either..."

I love that little whine when Tai Lung bites his own tail. Lol

Tai Lung was expecting a Tekken fight and Po answered with Smash Bros.

11:50 The true Dragon Warrior is in perfect harmony with the world around him.

@4:51 and 24:35 Po’s scream was done to deliberately mimic Goofy’s famous scream.

'What are you gonna do, big guy? Sit on me?' - Tai Lung

(LITERALLY MINUTES LATER)

Tai Lung: (Gets a face-full of Po's butt as they tumble down the stairs)

2:31 Po uses Counter! It's super effective! (sorta, iykyk)

That golden glow did not actually kill tailung, it actually banished him to the spirit realm.
