While Seoul talks about a supply shortage, there are areas within the same metropolitan region where newly built apartments in prime locations near subway stations remain unsold. One such area is Yangju Hoecheon New Town.

Today, focusing on Yangju Hoecheon New Town, we conducted on-site visits to the vicinity of Deokgye Station, the development site for the GTX Hoecheon Central Station, and Yangju Okjeong New Town to investigate why newly built apartments are not selling and to determine if this is a structural problem within the housing market on the outskirts of the metropolitan area.
