I am just coming to the realization that Redd Volkaert is one of the greatest players ever!

About 6 years ago all the Austin Guitarist considered Redd the Best Guitarist in Austin. He can do it all don’t surprised to see him Totally Shred!

I first saw Redd back in 1990 playing at some bar in Nashville and he was pouring out turbo charged jazz and country licks all night.  It was right around the time I was first getting into country music and I was beyond inspired!

this is the first time I've heard of Redd! he's killer! I've been playing guitar for 42 years, but mainly blues, rock and metal. I bought me a gorgeous Tele from Firefly guitars and it's phenomenal! Anyway, I decided I want to learn to play country. I've never done it before because it's kinda intimating. because the players are so precise and tight. i was searching videos for some lessons, and I came across Redd! I'm sure glad I did. I feel like a kid again first learning how to play again. I was stagnating and needed a challenge. I definitely got that now. cheers everyone!

Redd is one of the sweetest, humble, just plain great guys in the music industry. He has played with everybody, but mainly Merle is whom he has spent his career with, and he can blow the doors off of 99.9% of the guitar players on the planet. Just plain an amazing man, and I haven't had a chance to talk to him in quite a while, but he is one of those people who leave a lasting impression and memory with you. Thank goodness. Met him on the tele website.

Had a weekly gig at the Continental Club in Austin Texas for years. No longer, but what a treat.

Now I truly know, ain't no such thing as hands or fingers too big to play the guitar successfully * ✨

Guthrie Trapp made a mention of Redd in one of his videos so I started checking into him. What a revelation! Cool guy, amazing player with a great career that not enough people have heard of!

You know you have a great teacher  when you walk away with a head full of new understanding and a smile on your face from the funny things he said while he was teaching.
Bravo! Great video

had the pleasure of listening to him play at The Continental Club in Austin. What a killer player

Redd is so great! He loves his flame maple necks. Me too.

It's nice to see Red is a lot more sharing  of his licks than he was back in 1989 when I first met him. He's truly one of the greats!

Love that "don't know what that is ..but it works"..😅 that's what its all about... excellent 👍

EVH told me almost the exact story about pretending to read but just remembering the song when he took piano lessons as a kid….he was playing Bach on piano while he told me the story.

He is such a great player 🇨🇦

Tom Bukovak only mentioned Redd in a video earlier today and Redd shows up!

Red is fantastic IV seen him on many vedeos. Always great.😊

I've got this DVD. I like how's Red unabashedly titles the lesson as "stolen lick." Great player!!!

Redd is da best

Love Redd's car, anyone know what it is ? Redd is such a class player and a humble Gent. His licks always throw my ears
