It makes glad that in (by the time I am writing this) the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse, Peter B. Parker is shown to actually be married to Mary Jane, and has a daughter Madday. I don’t read that much of Marvel Comics than I do with DC Comics, but I am so sick and tired of always seeing Peter getting screwed over by life because it turns the editorials on.

Spider-Man is kind of stuck in a cycle since One More Day.

1) Spider-Man is Stuck with his life sucking.
2) stuff happens
3) he gets a romance interest
4) his life gets slightly better
5) new villain (writer) appears
6) remove previous good things happening, but keep the bad things.
7) start at point 1.

It is even worse because Renew Your Vows was made as a spin off giving us MJ x Peter as a married couple with a child (spiderling) as it was given to a random writer more as a point to prove that fans didn't want Peter in a relationship or married.

1) one comic per month was made vs the weekly main line comics.
2) Renew your vow OUT SOLD the main line comic each month.
3) they changed writers, artists, and aged up spiderling from kid to teen to try and deprive point.
4) Still out sold main line comics!
5) cancel series and got a writer who wrote a sci-fi series that had a married couple.
6) writer started to undue a lot of the damage done.
7) new writer steps in and removes the good stuff and keeps the bad stuff as his breakup trick was obscure magic nonsense.

They got a new writer to do another One More Day.

The issue quite simply... They keep giving writers who want Peter Parker to suffer the main line series.

At this point I've given up on Peter being happy, just putting the man down permanently and letting him rest might actually be better for him

Spiderman can fold most people in the verse like a pretzel but they make him look like a wet fart

Its crazy how Tobeys Peter, Peter B. Parker, and the Peter Parker in the Spider-Girl story are all allowed to grow as character....
But nah the main Peter Parker 616 is held back ever since Civil War.

Peter is hands down the most powerful street level hero, arguably one of the most powerful human characters in marvel period. He has an immense amount of strength and agility along with spider sense.

Not just that but he has an intellect so advanced he can carry conversations with Reed Richards, Tony Stark, Hank Pym, and Bruce Banner.

But arguably his greatest quality is his indomitable power to endure and push through any situation no matter how hopeless. Whether that be a physical threat or an emotional one.

All of these qualities have been forgotten by marvel editorial and now Peter is just an absolute cuck. I mean for real he’s just beating off in the corner watching everyone else getting some. He can’t keep a fucking job, he’s treated like a low level hero, he’s treated like he’s not a fucking genius, he can’t even have a stable relationship. His whole life is an erratic and poorly written joke. He’s written like such a shallow two dimensional mess

I used to think Spidey saying his powers were a curse was an exaggeration and that he was simply being overly dramatic. I don’t feel that way anymore.

"Oh yeah man. Vulture was extra zesty that day."

All these writers dont realize how insanely strong Spider man, especially compared to his villains.

7:22 This panel is a masterpiece, I have an original copy of the comic where it shows up, the entire fight with Morlun destroyed spiderman, he just wanted a break. The panel shows how Peter is sacrificing his own life in every way or sense possible to help people, he could've stayed in the bunker Ezekiel made for him, but deicided to go into a fight he was sure he could not win in order to not let people get hurt. This panel shows a broken man that keeps on not for himself, but for strangers that will likely never return the favor

We just reached the point where there's no justification for his suffering.
He's smart. Strong. Experienced. Connected with every important figure in marvel since he basically carries the company on his back.
Yet somehow he's always broke, sad, alone, and we're told this is how it's supposed to be. What the fuck, name me another hero who gets cucked twice!

What's been going on with Spider-Man is an extreme example of what's been happening with serialized comics for years. The top brass is so obsessed with keeping the status quo no matter what, but then go and hire writers that want to actually write and make new stories with actual changes, so then the editors have to swoop in at the end of a run and reset everything, therefore Spider-Man always have to end up broke and alone, Batman always has to end up depressed and with no friends or family outside of Alfred, and anyone who died is just gonna come back in a couple of years when another writer needs them. That's why comics like Hellboy and Invincible don't get made fun of for making their mcs suffer, because there's actually a point.

Not only is it disrespectful to Peter, it's disrespectful to Mary-Jane who's grown so much with Peter. Him and her had amazing(pun intended) character arcs together, and grew emotionally thanks to one another... and they treat it like it meant nothing. This reminds me of when they built up a storyline of them having a child together, only to have MJ miscarriage for no reason. It's like they're afraid of change and progression!

1:11 caught me tf off guard🤣 lol

I want a Spiderman edition where he finally beats the shit out of his biggest enemy, Marvel’s editorial team.

DC fans with the flash: First time, spiderman fans?

No wonder why Peter B Parker is alot of people favorite Spider-Man 🤣

I agree with The point about not understanding how powerful Spider-Man is but also his intelligence in the previous runs it felt like he used his smarts to get out of situations in my opinion but they don't do that anymore a good example would be like the PS4 game he actually analyzes the situation in one mission to figure out the best outcome and I feel like he used to do that in the comic books before 2007 I could be wrong though but that's just my opinion

6:22 very accurate Joe Swanson voice
