brother is reviewing this like the latest fastest iphone ever

Thermal printer paper only works one way - it also has to be threaded through the printer correctly, before it will work.  Otherwise the printer will nag that it can't 'see' the paper; via the sensor.  I'd assume you can also change the settings so you don't have such a wasted post printing section.

as a cashier the struggle with the receipt paper hurt.. especially when he put the roll the wrong way in!! how!!!😫

"How easy it was for me to set this up"..... not very easy at all lol

Bro bought a generic android point of sale terminal and is shocked it acts exactly like one. 😂
News flash, it's a work device. It doesn't need to have high end specs or hardware, it just needs barebones software and enough specs to reliably get work tasks done.

And also, yes people in lots of countries buy them for their businesses. You may have bought it from Amazon, but it's a generic AliExpress device

YouTube had been covering up the FF UI with recommendations when you turn it sideways on everything lately

It's a yt bug. Just started recently, and not all the time

That looks like real Android 14 its just the system apps having that outdated Material 1 styled looks

imagine your customers use that to watch smokin silicon videos instead of paying

Thanks for making this video it REALLY helped me find my next new phone (LOVE the videos man keep working hard!)

Products like this are not sketchy and very common in restaurants or service areas. As it looks for the customer more trustworthy than a simple phone which fulfills the same function. The device is basically just an Android phone with an NFC reader and a barcode scanner built into it. and you can install any app you want just like you could on a normal phone.

0:49 the edited in superimposed cartoonish screen crack effect! my day is saved!

I have seen a similar device in a coffee shop, which was branded "dojo", which has a chip reader in addition to the tap to pay, and it was interfaced with the register

From my understanding these devices are sold as a “proof of concept” since the device itself, due to regulations, must contain valid key hashes for payment processing. The “app store” and the “phone update” apps you saw are an MDM (Mobile Device Management) that allows an admin to push updates remotely from their own app, the key hashes, critical android updates, or fixes to the drivers.

Also, the since MDM licensing is costly, admins regularly set up to blockages to prevent logging in to third party apps that could use the device for payments.

Long story short, you have in your hands a device that should not be used to process payments through any app as the card data might be compromised to an unknown admin

these devices are typically brought up by some lesser known payment providers to distribute to customers. ive had experience with one of these kinds of devices in the dnapayments ecosystem. the whole idea is they buy the device and load it with their software (however sketch it may be, im not a massive fan of dna) and send it off to a merchant using their services. also, the camera message square was giving you is VERY common on payment processing apps. if you have adb enabled or your camera is active, they will refuse to let you take payments to avoid you skimming the card details through any means. neat feature, albeit annoying to me specifically since i like adb

i love how randomly he assumes that this thing can be used as a normal device XD how do you even carry it?? anyway, it's a cool device for sure but it's not meant to be used normaly lol. still quite awesome to see :)

I'm addicted to the way Jacob says "come on" LOL

3:27 its a new feature from youtube😂 Ive seen that in my phone like 3 times.. so.. its a bugged youtube playback screen.. wtf is youtube doing there😂😂

The Square app refusing to work when the camera is active is an intended security feature. So that l malicious apps can't use the camera to scan your customers card details.

That yt bug is happening  to me to all of my 4 devices from android 11 to android 16 ( might go away if u update it to the latest version )
