The Chuo Gakuin University Ekiden (long-distance relay race) team works hard every day with the goal of competing in the Hakone Ekiden.

Thank you for watching! This is the Chuo Gakuin University Ekiden team.

This time, we followed their training camp held in Futtsu City, Chiba Prefecture, just before the Hakone Ekiden qualifying race.

The Hakone Ekiden qualifying race is fast approaching.

In this training session, with the main event in mind, the key theme was how to run with ease while being conscious of race pace.

Even in unusual circumstances, such as course changes due to the typhoon, the athletes faced their individual challenges and ran hard until the final push.

And the day before the entry deadline for the qualifying race, Coach Kawasaki conveyed to the athletes the firm confidence they had gained from their training so far and the mindset needed for the main event.

"If they do what they've been doing, they'll definitely come in first place."

The Chuo Gakuin University Ekiden Team aims to compete in the Hakone Ekiden main race.

○About the Chuo Gakuin University Ekiden Team
Current coach Yuji Kawasaki established the Chuo Gakuin University Ekiden Team from scratch. Their training base is Abiko City, Chiba Prefecture.

The team is characterized by its flawless, tenacious, and all-out ekiden style. While their training distance is shorter than other schools, they emphasize mastering correct form and building basic physical strength through supplementary exercises. They strive to improve the athletes' abilities and work hard every day towards achieving their team goals in the university ekiden. They also aim for personal growth through track and field and ekiden.
