Thinking of buying property in Spain? Most people immediately think of Marbella, Mallorca, Ibiza or the Costa del Sol. But after years of helping people buy property overseas - and buying my own place in Spain - I've discovered there are some incredible locations that many international buyers still overlook.

In this video, I'm sharing 7 hidden gems across Spain that offer great lifestyles, strong investment potential and, in many cases, much better value for money than the country's most famous hotspots.

We'll explore:

🏡 Granada – where you can ski in the morning and relax on the beach in the afternoon

🏡 Almería – unspoilt beaches, dramatic landscapes and affordable property prices

🏡 Sitges – a stylish coastal town just 40 minutes from Barcelona

🏡 Valencia – one of Spain's fastest-growing and most liveable cities

🏡 Orihuela Costa – sunshine, golf courses and major infrastructure improvements

🏡 Costa Tropical – Spain's best-kept property secret?

🏡 Málaga – a thriving city attracting investors, professionals and digital workers

Whether you're looking for a holiday home, retirement property, relocation opportunity or buy-to-let investment, these locations deserve a place on your shortlist.

I'm sorry, but Nerja is part of the province of Málaga, which is the Costa del Sol

We moved to a small town in the Cabo de Gata area, San José, Almeria. As far as I know it's never been on a Place in the Sun, it has some of the best unspoilt beaches in Spain (Genoves, Monsul) but there are very few Brits here and zero British food, English menus etc. So you could say it's hidden from Brits. You have to be able to speak a little Spanish which is one of the attractions for us. Prices have gone up with Spanish buyers though so it's very well known amongst the Spanish. Spanish people we meet out of the region often say how lovely it is here. Prices: are 2 bed from about €200,000, 3 bed from about €300,000. If we hadn't moved here, other favourite places would be Almuñecar, La Herradura, Salobreña, Aguilas and Cadiz.

These are all great suggestions. Granada and Almeria are beautiful provinces. Great places to grab plots at reasonable prices if building your own home is what you're after.

I think la costa Dorada will boom too. Since it’s sandwiched between Costa del Sol, popular Portugal and the opening boarder of Gibraltar.

We sold our place in orihuela costa thus year as the council do nothing for that area, they spend our taxes for orihuela city. The bins are disgusting and the streets are full of weeds that grow up to your waist ! Lots of crime there now. Had 7 great years doing the 90 days in spring and autumn but it is going downhill now .

I live south of Granada halfway between the city and the coast and the property prices quoted are well under the actual prices for property here . House prices have risen a fair bit in the last couple of years

We used to live in Vera, Buganvillas area. Can’t wait to go back and will be happy when the train line between Almeria and Murcia is finally built.

We just bought a property in Valencia and the prices you quoted for housing are way out of date, they are at least 50% higher for a place in a decent part of town. Having said that, it is worth it… fantastic city!

Good advices.

Good sound advice Laura. Having been based in Almerimar in the marina as we had a yacht there we visited lots of different towns both on the coast and inland but we decided on Aguilas a small village on the borders of Andalusia and Murcia. Properties were reasonable 9/10 years ago but like lots of coastal places they’ve really risen which was great for us when selling.
