At 50, with no prior injury, woke up with level 10 pain at 3 in the morning. I got a microdiscectomy 5 months later to remove two bulges. Very minimally invasive. Perfect outcome.

I have bulging compressed disc c5-c7, plus bone spurs, pushing on spinal cord, left arm weakness tricep muscle loss, bout two inches smaller in circumference from right arm, pain was unbearable shoulder arm fingers. Met with 3 neuro surgeons independently, all recommended minimum 2 level ACDF, disc replacements. I waited a year, did dry needling at chiropractic office, nerve flossing, traction, meds, tens unit, muscle strengthening exercises for my lower scapula, biggest lifestyle change was correcting my posture, sitting straight up instead of slouching in car and my desk job, new chair, im almost pain free, im back in the gym! Praise the lord, hallelujah! Be patient folks it can heal.

I had surgery when I was 21, I am 58 now. It was like a toothache in my back. The surgeon told me I somehow pinched a small chunk off the disc and he said he just picked it right off. I woke up completely painless and haven’t had a problem since.

I’m 69 years old now. I had back pain most of my life even in my late 20’s. MRI showed that I had 2 bulging disc and deformed vertebrae. He was honest with me and told me not to have surgery until I woke up one morning and was in so much pain I couldn’t get out of bed. I never had surgery and I have occasional back pain all through my life. I treat it with exercise and occasionally medication.

I had a severe herniated disc. Horrendous pain but a year later a second MRI confirmed the disc had self healed 🙏 took the referred pain a while to settle down but all good now.

I had no idea I missed Bob this much. To have such a great presenter get so randomly struck down by Lady Luck is just plain nasty.

Really loving the new format of nesting videos into the new intros

There’s a lot of great info that might be hard to search on your YT at Bob and Brad. Re-presenting in this way definitely helps us viewers out. A lot of what you discuss is still relevant and safer than faddish or trendy unbacked ideas.

Also - we love Bob! We love the new crew too. But we definitely always can use Bob+Brad combo. ❤

Prayers to Bob. Have a great Thanksgiving all.

Thanks for the info, young Bob and Brad!

At age 43 I had a herniated disc at L4-L5 that was impinging my left sciatic nerve and was causing intense pain in my upper left butt cheek for weeks that then turned into shooting pains down my leg all the way to my foot. I ended up having microdiscectomy surgery which is minimally invasive and the surgeon was able to remove the part of the disc that was touching the nerve. It helped a lot but it took about a year for that nerve to finally calm down and become pain free. The entire thing was absolutely horrible.

@Beaver108 1 year ago

Back surgery saved me L4 L5 & S1 were trashed. Sometimes you have to pull the trigger on surgery, I put it off for years, and it was getting worse.

@paulpeterson9721 1 year ago

I spend more time talking to patients with LBP and a bulging disc on how surgery is unlikely to remove the pain

Could you do a video on osteoarthritis in the shoulders, back, neck, and hips?

@dragoninvegas 1 year ago

You gentlemen are amazing…! Thank you and of course thank Bob and wish him the best! I, too, am one of many who miss him…

@TheBuilder311 1 year ago

That horn on the little trolley going by really got me ;)

@Neoxxx-g7u 1 year ago

It is true a herniated disc is nit necessarily the cause of back pain or the only cause of back pain. However, a herniated disc that traps the exiting nerve root can be a significant cause of pain or worse paralysis depending on the nerve or nerves

One of my favorite stretches.

Just shared it with my 3o jr old daughter.
Thank you 😊❤

It’s nice to have the baseline imaging prior to doing all the PT and treatment and possible followups. Rarely should you just jump to surgery…there are usually still multiple options available…but the system is a so messed up that people feel so helpless and unseen that they just rush to the options that are given…
