Good story. It was well spoken, which keeps it interesting. I appreciate that it was a full story that wasn't repeated over and over again.

I think wolf-born may have meant not that the child was a werewolf (most people there would be), but that he was born out of wedlock or mate-bond, an acknowledged bastard. Which does not mean that his father didn't care about him, but did mean that his mother may not have had position or rank (at least not yet), and that others may have found her bearing an heir to the Alpha rather inconvenient. It is unclear why the mother wasn't present later, as there is no further mention of the mother after saying that her fever broke, and she was laying pale and still. If she died after childbirth while fevered, it would have been nice if the story mentioned that. Her death or continued sickness would explain why the child was not brought to the mother once it was breathing well again, and why the FL ended up apparently caring for him in a position like a medically skilled nursemaid, though the implication is that she may be chosen as Luna eventually. Either the child's mother died, or the Alpha wasn't all that attached to her, and she was just a fling that resulted in a child. The story is definitely vague in some areas.

Did the child's mother die ? Was it because of the drug administered that causes the child to not breath properly? It has not been explained well.

She saved the boy and the council says it didnt follow a known procedure. What is more important , his life or procedure? Politics!!!

I enjoyed this very precise story and the narrator’s voice.

Too confusing & leaves the hero’s morals questionable.

What about the kids mom, why hasn't he mated to the mom instead of making an alliance with another woman? He is mated to the kids mom but why is he so insistent on the healer staying and what does he mean saying she has been chosen by 2 wolves not 1? Is he trying to court her now too? Oh hell no! Story is not specific in relationships and resolutions and why he even wants her to stay, also has nothing at all to do with the title!
