I just dealt with this last week. One of our guys got one of those wire flagging stakes wrapped up inside the the clutch cover. It got in between the washer and clutch cover. What a pain in the ass to get it out. Had to destroy the C-clip to get it off as well.
Donny you cutting torch lol . THINK SAFETY and always put SAFETY FIRST using hammer 🔨 😊lol. Time you get that off my bottle moose 🫎 should be warm up 🆙 buddy .
The way that I have found to get a sprocket washer off is to have a spare one, handy. about a 3:12 because I usually have a 50% chance of loosing them when I remove them. I have never seen a clip that I could not remove either my small Stihl carburetor adjusting screwdriver. If I had to resort to other means I would use a pair of channel locks to press it upwards or take a bigger screwdriver with a small hammer to drive it off. My rule is - if it will go on, it will come off. I may well loose it in the process but it will come off.
On a side note...If Donny ever asks to borrow your carb screwdriver real quick. The answer is always, NO!!😂😂 I wonder if you put a socket over the washer if a couple smacks with a hammer would bend it back enough to remove the clip? I haven't had to deal with this situation yet, but it sure doesn't look like fun!
That was painful to watch. I've never seen that style washer. I've never owned a modern Stihl. I've only seen the thin tin washers. I thought that you were just going to show us to hold a rag over it when you pop it off so it doesn't fly across the room
