This autumn, a metal detector hunt yielded me some silver from Nicholas II's 1895 coin, and then I went to the river to look for ancient coins!

A friend and I headed to a plowed field in the lowlands, next to the river and ravines. These places hold traces of old settlements and an ancient royal road. Finds don't appear immediately, but among the usual signals, tsarist coins crop up, and the main find from the field is a silver 10 kopeck coin from Nicholas II's 1895 coin!

But the search doesn't end there. After my friend leaves, I decide to continue searching with a Minelab Manticore metal detector right in the river. The first hour is mostly uninteresting, but as darkness approaches, ancient coins begin to appear! Among the finds are copper scales from the Copper Riot and a Tver pulo. The excitement is so intense that I continue searching even at night!

Watch the video until the end – ahead lies Russian Imperial silver, ancient coins, and a real autumn metal detector hunt. Which finds did you like the most? Let us know in the comments! 👇
