About the 11037 thing: In the original japanese, it was a more legitimate "puzzle" because the game devs didnt expect the average player whose first language was japanese to see a set of numbers and immediately think "this character's given name but romanized and upside down! with one letter missing a line!!! duh!!" but unfortunately for those of us who play the game in english its... pretty basic pattern recognition and there was no easy way to localize that clue. It does make the first case somewhat frustrating to play though because we're sitting there for an hour yelling "ITS LITERALLY LEON UPSIDE DOWN" at our screens while the characters go on about "11037.... N037???"

😭 mondo jus catching strays

Fun fact: The reason why sayaka and leon got killed off first is because the creators of dangarompa got tired of them 💀

leon is the only character in the franchise who commits a murder without ACTUALLY knowing what he's getting himself into! yeah, he reads that the rule says they have to be undiscovered, but monokuma doesn't lay down the rules for the actual trial until after sayakas death. after i realized that, i really can't hate him. i feel too bad for him!!!!!
the mystery in chapter one is soooo simple, but i still love it because the writer did a good job of making both of their deaths feel back-stabby while still maintaining that they're really just highschoolers who are scared and want to go home. ):

2 HOURS??? WE’RE BEING FED A GOURMET MEAL!!!!

19:14 foreshadowing 😭

girl you just clocked something major in a 5 second bit im eerily impressed

I can't wait to see her reactions to the other plot twists. I remember being genuinely shocked at most of them

also i love how at 51:02 leon, instead of accusing yamada of volunteering for trash duty to be able to easily hide murder evidence like you'd expect, he's just like "i know why you did it! it's because you're a PERVERT!!" lol

53:59 ✨don’t accuse me I’m just a makatuah✨

The heartbreak of Makoto mimicking Sayaka's psychic behaviour at the end of the trial when speaking to Kyoko, shattered

The whole class would be cooked if Kyoko wasn’t there

Girl. Your victorian child remarks always gets meeaahh

2:40:29 I think all the executions are mostly around what gives the killer despair, Leon was executed by baseballs not only because that was his talent but because he doesn’t like his talent. In the future there will be more executions that doesn’t necessarily evolve around the killer’s talent but more around personal themes

i love your reaction so much when makoto made that sayaka's joke during the last lines, i felt the same way too omg.

the immediate leon clock in the first few seconds is CRAZY

1:44:50 Fun fact: It is lucky that Makoto ended up with the broken door because it saved him in this trial...

it is pretty funny how there wasn't really any way for the localization team to make the 11037 clue not completely stupid obvious for fluent english speakers. for the jp version, his name would be written as 怜恩 in dialogue, so it's easier to not notice right away. but in the english version, it's SO easy to tell that it almost goes all the way back around to feeling like "it's TOO obvious, so it must be a trick/red herring" lol

FULL INVESTIGATION AAAAND THE CLASS TRIAL IN ONE EPISODE!?!?! blessed

makatuah going through the 5 stages of grief js bc of that dang betrayal 😭
