Too many options leads to the paradox of choice; everyone wants unlimited options but the constraints are what facilitates creativity

With love and respect, the a.i. generated thumbnails have not been good.

I’m really excited about these new features, but I really hope it doesn’t go in the “shell” direction. I’m afraid it might open the doors to the per feature DLC formula. The user experience of a piece of gear is not just the sum of the features, but how those features work as an ecosystem.

I'd just be happy with a little ball that I can use as a mouse built into the hardware of the MPC. Editing is currently clunky AF.

This is a beautiful time to be alive...these updates have added 20+ more years to my 2KXL. It's not farfetched that we'll soon be able to spec out these machines to suit our personal neeeds

What Low Hiss is doing with his eSPi1200 is the future of samplers. Integrated software DAW and sp1200 midi controller with his own effect racks (I think you could use any vst3 too). Maybe next summer.

I can already picture big brands releasing new features for a small fee. Similar to how video games have DSP content now

it sounds like a cyberdeck movement for sampler, love this concept

Would be dope to see a company do for samplers what ModRetro has done for gaming consoles: Stick true to the classic hardware in how it feels to use but give it modern compute and software. Make it customizable and repairable so it lasts a lifetime. Build the dream sampler Marlow, you’ve got an audience that would buy!

I’m an engineer and would happy to chat about the hardware part any time.

Ireally like the modification of old Hardware... The MODS for the 2kXL look awesome! Sadly I have a Cardreader installed that can't boot the OS... So, maybe I'll need to but a floppydrive back in my MPC... Is it possible to use a Floppy and a cradreader at the same time... I'll try... Mybe I'll install a SCSI Cardreader...

A perfect analysis of the current situation. The only thing I’d add is that if sampler manufacturers gave users that kind of freedom, I’m not sure how many would make good use of it… Not many users have a clear idea of the workflow they actually want—in fact, I’d say very few do. Most, given the power to choose their own workflow, would end up taking the worst possible route.

Still, we’re living through an incredible moment.
