How Trevon Diggs Threw Away a $97M Career... | How To KILL an NFL Career

Trevon Diggs went from the most feared ballhawk in the NFL — 11 interceptions, First-Team All-Pro, a $97 MILLION contract to being waived by the Dallas Cowboys, claimed by the Green Bay Packers, and released again. All before turning 28. This is the full story of how one of the most gifted cornerbacks of his generation lost everything that mattered in this league: trust. From a grieving kid in Gaithersburg, Maryland following his big brother Stefon Diggs footsteps, to crying when Nick Saban switched his position at Alabama, to setting franchise records nobody had touched since 1981 — Trevon Diggs had every reason to be a Cowboy for life. Then came the ACL, the second knee surgery. Then the $500K fine, the Christmas Day. Then the flight he wasn't supposed to miss.

I feel like guys like this grind so hard all their life to make it that once they get to the nfl they relax too much / get too comfortable or just burn out mentally

Digg's ego was bigger than his heart.

It's very classy of you not to mention the off the field drama/distractions, but it wouldn't be inaccurate to say it is a contributing factor.

Micah was flexing that the training allowed Diggs to come back early, now he blames Dallas for riding him back too soon?

After Christmas Day game, instead flying back with the team, he said he wanted to stay with family, but was seen on stage at a shy glizzy concert. He was on the way out already, but that just sealed his fate in Dallas sooner.

Diggs fucked up by being Micah’s lap dog and involving himself in the contract drama

…..and he followed Stephon straight into a messy life. It’s sad, both with so much talent and promise only to blow it all due to pride, immaturity and poor decision.
