I began modeling a year or so ago at age 77. I am guessing I won’t have 30 years to get good at it so I spend a lot of time reading the accepted literature and on you tube. It is a real pleasure to find artisans such as you sharing their knowledge with us. Thank you.

Tanaka, this is excellent.  I am fairly new to ship modeling and have heard that cotton rigging will sag over time.  Is this something you have noticed or are concerned about?  Would you suggest wax to decrease the fuzziness before or after it is laid?

You inspired me to build this rope-making machine using Lego Gears.
Thanks a lot for the inspiration. I am still quite a way from making perfect rope. I also use Z-twisted rope, but I still can't find the best way to twist it perfectly.
Can you give me some hints? When should I stop twisting 3 threads, and when should I stop twisting the rope?
