Finally, I entered Madagascar, a place I've always wanted to visit! 🇲🇬 ...Or so I thought, but I received my first taste of African hardship upon arrival. 🥲

It started with a frantic 30-minute layover, followed by, predictably, lost luggage. 🤷‍♀️

My trip to Madagascar began without my belongings, and then, while taking photos in a market, an unbelievable incident occurred! 😱‼ ️

My necklace was ripped off right before my eyes and stolen.

It happened so quickly that it took me a while to comprehend what had happened.

It was a necklace I'd cherished for over 10 years, bought in Turkey, like a lucky charm. 😞
Watching the thief run away, the frustration was unbearable. 😡

Lost luggage, theft, one mishap after another—it's been a very difficult start, but even amidst all this, the kind locals who helped me and my encounter with wild ring-tailed lemurs have kept me going. 🥹

Madagascar is far more challenging than I imagined! East Africa Island Nation Edition, begins! 👏
