It’s time to settle this once and for all…
The solid PVA bag and the method feeder are both proven carp catchers — but which one really comes out on top when you fish them side by side?

In this session, I put both methods to the test under the same conditions to see which catches more fish, which gets the quicker bite, and which one I’d reach for next time.
The results might just surprise you 👀

Put a method feeder inside a solid bag, best of both worlds

I would try this with the same pellets. Dry in the bag... wet for the method. Think that's a more fair battle. But always nice to see the comparison between both setups.

Unless I missed it, you didn't put the pink Smart Liquid on the method feeder, but you did squirt it into the solid bag. Also, they were not identical set ups because you used ground bait on the method feeder and pellets in the bags. Surely this was pellets & Smart Liquid v ground bait.

Nice one Joe. Enjoying the pov. Just shows that videos can be just as entertaining without all the extra equipment etc. 👍👍

Method feeder all day especially the old korda ones with the interchangeable waight, no matter what the weather its faster and what you can use is alot more than pva.
Basically the method can do all the solid bag does and more .

As a general rule of thumb, I find method works better for me in the summer and PVA in Autumn/Winter. But I fish it with a twist - Instead of using a method feeder, I use the Pallatrax Stonze. You can mould your mix around the Stonze weight and it works like a feeder with the added advantages that being porous you can soak it in liquid before putting the mix on and when the mix melts off it is less obtrusive and looks like part of the lake bed when the fish are wary of something man made. I can also fish it with the bag where the Stonze takes the place of your normal weight so I can change between them if need be without having to reset my rig.

Like this is a fair test using different baits on each rod why not wet some pellets so the hook bait matches the size of the free offering that massive hook bait with groundbait don't work great but that hook bait with mic size of pellets

The method is a lot quicker than using bags once you get loading strategy worked out and practised, even when using loop to loop on the bags. Good video this thanks for taking the time to make it.

When its comin to 20mm or bigger boilies ... Solidbag the way to go ! Also i like it to come to the lake with prepared soldi bags :)

Brilliant test — rarely do we see such an honest comparison between the method feeder and the solid bag.
Method tends to shine when fish are actively feeding, while the solid bag gives that perfect edge in colder, more cautious conditions.
Great balance between presentation and real-life results!

the lenght of the line in method feeder is from 8 to 12cm

Great video as always. Its been a good few years since I used a method feeder, definitely more of a forgotten tactic on carp waters. I always tend to use small mesh bags, more for ease of use.
