Doug physically cannot stop himself from explaining things with food

Getting taught how to code by an award winning published author will look good on my resume

HE’S EXPLAINING IT WITH FOOD! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

I love that Doug taught them how to make an infinite loop, but never how to terminate program execution from the terminal.

As a programmer myself, i turned into a pre-schooler by watching this video, you shot a hole in the back of my head and all the knowledge leaked out.

After 3 hours they couldn’t teach Doug how to code. 😔

dougdoug laughs at vibe coder while he generates like 80% of his code with cursor

Atrioc implementing ChatGPT and immediately getting prompt injected and had to deal with that is comedy gold. 51:27

As someone who actually taught intro CS for several years to HS/college kids… Doug is actually fantastic at breaking it down in a way someone who has never seen code can understand quickly. Then again I might be biased… I have a soft spot for anyone who is trying to teach code in an interesting and relatable way, and this was fantastic. I kinda wish this video existed years ago so I could just send it to my students lmaoooo

"Just a quick 5-minute coding adventure" says the person that takes an average 2 hours to code

As painful as this is to watch, it's also very nice to see programming education used as entertainment

Doug should do a steam where he tries to program in the Chef esoteric programming language, which is a language where all the programs look like cooking recipes.

Just wanna say that Aiden didn't actually re-run the program in the first challenge...

You can see the difference, his was still printing all six lines every 0.1 seconds. You can tell by how the terminal lines moved, where it was smooth on Atrioc's and jumpy on Aiden's. Recount.

42:20 all the chaos happening, then "HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO STOP THE TOILET!" immediately followed with the cinema might be one of the funniest doug moments of the year 😭😭😭

37:53 1 minute into level 4 and the marketer is already adding in feature creep and planning out of scope 😂😂😂

18:50 for an Uber eats metaphor. When you make code, you're placing an order. When you make a function, it's like the app saving one of your past orders so you can order the same order again later. If I order a Chipotle 3 bean burrito with a side of Sour Cream and onion chips and a sprite on Saturday, I can just say "Saturday's order" and it'll be the same thing.
