Everyone told us Abidjan was beautiful. Then we actually got there.

Country 130 on our mission to visit every country in the world takes us from Yamoussoukro to the wild, chaotic streets of Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and let's just say the bus ride alone deserves its own movie. We settled into a gorgeous Airbnb, knocked out our Mali visas in under 30 minutes (yes, really), and raided a Carrefour like we hadn't seen a salad in months. Because honestly, we hadn't.

Things got a little messy along the way: a broken bus mirror, dead plumbing, and hours spent at the Ghana embassy after camping out at a coffee shop just to get the paperwork started. But we also found homemade baked potatoes, Ivory Coast chocolate, and a shopping mall that somehow felt like the best thing that's happened to us in weeks.
