Roadblock: Jobber in WCW, inaugural champion in Robot Wars.

If you don't like the term "Jobber", Jim Cornette had a good name for them.  "We used to call them 'carpenters', because they wouldn't draw you a house, but they'd sure help you build one."

I remember James Ellsworth being labeled 'no chin music'

Matt Cardona catching a stray in the opening

You should do more top ten videos about referees! They deserve more recognition

I will die on the hill that the Zombie was the most authentically ECW thing on that first show. First, the promo was unironically funny (I lost it when he points into the camera and grunts like he’s really saying something impactful). Second, they literally just reprised the old gimmick from ECW where a bad guitarist, Doink the Clown, or Santa Claus would come out for 911 to chokeslam (which got over huge back in the day). And while the video says otherwise, this was how the Sandman was used. He caned Eugene at ONS, the Zombie on the debut, a priest one week, “Macho Libre” another week. This was ECW 101, but it flew over most of the IWC’s heads.

Arachnaman not making it on here feels like such a missed opportunity.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan + Fred Ottman = Roadblock

I swear when i was little i remember it being TL Hooper became it rhymes with pooper.

'...a Warhammer that's yet to be painted'  i popped.

How about "the Goon"? He was supposed to be a hockey player who was banned from every league he competed in for being too violent, and wore boots that kinda looked like hockey skates, and wrestled every match like he was in a hockey fight.

The Rochester Roadblock had star written all over him!

Wasn't there a whole bit with James Ellsworth where he couldn't be put in a chinlock?

Jobber gimmick idea: this wrestler is obsessed with the wrestling rulebook and the importance of following the rules. They absolutley NEVER break the rules and hate being put in a position (by a heel) to look like they did. It's classic as hell, very easy to maintain kayfabe, and naturally creates nearly endless situations to build heat and get pops.

James Ellsworh did lead to David Otunga's single greatest contribution to wrestling with his "He hit him with No Chin Music" call.

Bobby Heenan called them ham and eggers.

And to add a little bit more about Corey Student, played High School Football for West Hazleton going opposite of Gene Snitzky for Panther Valley.

I first heard about Frog/Toad from DDTDigest back in the day. An encyclopedia of WCW results from the Nitro era

RIP Tim Arson. It would have been quite the trick to get miz to fight the zombie in 2021 considering tim arson died in 2015.

We called them nobodies around my way in the 80’s and 90’s
