You all need to stop saying you don’t like something when the only version you’ve tried is from the UK🤣

Soul Food is ethnic Black American cuisine. It's not "Caribbean food" nor is all "comfort food" Soul Food. Caribbean food and comfort food may borrow from Soul Food but Soul Food is it's own thing.

Remember when you're in the South, if they're older than you, it's always Yes sir, Yes ma'am, Ms. or Mr.

Soul food is not Caribbean food. It's southern Black American food.

I grew up drinking Kool-Aid. It’s definitely liquid diabetes.
Soul Food was created by Black Americans, it’s not Caribbean food.

Baked beans were sent by the US to the UK during and after WW2 to feed a starving nation. Heinz, a popular brand, is American. The British then started adding it to toast. Your mother is right about bread pudding. In the past, nothing went to waste, especially food. Therefore, stale bread was recycled into bread pudding. It is true for both the US and UK.

Soul food and comfort food are 2 totally different things! Comfort food is any food that makes you feel happy, nostalgic, etc...Soul food is a type of food that goes back to the slave days!

15:28 Americans tend to use the term yam and sweet potato interchangeably, as we don't tend to grow actual yams here, and people replaced them in recipes with sweet potatoes. So when you hear someone mention candied yams, we mean candied sweet potatoes

IF YOU'RE IN THE SOUTH YOU PUT MISS IN FRONT OF THE FIRST NAME . IT'S JUST RESPECT

@philipparker357 9 months ago

In the South, the adults older than you are called Sir, Mam, Mister XX, or Miss XX out of respect for their years of experience and knowledge and authority.
