Yes, it’s too heavy! Lol. Mostly when it’s on its way to the ground and you have to pick it back up.

Uwharrie is rough, Even on a 2 stroke enduro, especially this year, I took my 2009 klr out there about 6 years ago, it did ok with  50% life shinko 705s. Its way rockier now than then though. It looked like you kept some speed up in the new gen bike. Great job.

I'm 6'5" my first bike was a Gen 1 KLR a bunch of years ago, almost nothing is as roomy. I own a 690R and a R1200GSA now the GS is comfy but just too big for rough trails at my skill level. The 690R is great for gravel and dirt roads, open terrain but man it's beastly with the power for technical stuff, will send you into a stump quick if you screw up the clutch handling LOL.  I may try a Beta 430 and do a tall guy build on it as I live on dirt roads now so I don't need the long highway legs of the 690 anymore and 45HP is plenty for what I need. They are 230lbs too so they feel like a mountain bike.

Nice!  That's still somewhat tame terrain for the KLR, it pretty much rides stuff like that like a two wheeled ATV instead of like a bike.

great lookin trails, the KLR is a damn good battle ship, cant go wrong with it. Yeah that is the only time you know when your on a KLR is when you have to pick her up. I am running Tusk waypoints front and back, she is in the shop getting the fuel pump replaced nothing wrong with the one that is in it. I just have been sitting on the recall for it I got a trip lined up for the KLR I plan on doing the The Mid-Atlantic BDR, and would hate if the fuel pump would decide to go out on me in the middle of no where.

Very good video. I really enjoyed seeing what the KLR will do with a real rider. I have the 22 Adventure and love it. I live in WNC and have ridden it from here to the MABDR twice and once to Colorado and New Mexico just for fun. No trailer all back roads till I got to dirt in New Mexico. Then ride it back to NC. I love mine. A buddy and I did the SM500 a couple of years ago and started to do the BDRX but had to postpone our after a day. Have a blast and be careful. When are you doing the SM500?

Hey, I love your videos. In another video you talked about taking the KLR and your other bike to a meet-up in South Carolina. Just wondering, how do you transport your bike(s)? I have a 2024 Nissan Titan and there's no way I can get my 2023 KLR 650 Adventure in the back of my truck. The truck tailgate is just too tall. Bought ramps and tried it a couple of times and almost killed myself and the bike. Fortunately, no damage. So I just bought a Mototote Sport hitch carrier. The carrier itself is great - super strong and relatively light weight. That said, I'm still struggling. First time I tried to load the KLR I was struggling to get the front wheel over the front wheel chock and I ended up whiskey throttling it and the front wheel went off the end of the carrier and the skid plate got stuck in the chock while pretty much the full weight of the bike was resting on my arms. Fortunately, my wife went to get my neighbor who happened to be home and he came over and helped me out the jam. But I had to sit there holding the full weight of the bike for about 10 minutes until he got there. One more minute and I would have had to drop it. Again, no damage except a large bruise on one of my arms. But now my confidence is shook. Haven't tried it again, but plan to give it another try this weekend. Just wondering what you do to transport. Thanks!
