Born in Tokyo in 1950. Graduated from Rikkyo University, Faculty of Law. Businessman, author, and poet. A life philologist who practices and advocates a lifestyle centered on the burning of life. A lifetime member of the Mycological Society of Japan. His numerous books include "Living," "My Friend," and "To the Origin." He also develops his own art projects, presiding over the Shikkou Kusafune Collection and serving as director of the Toshima Yasumasa Memorial Museum.

His food business, including mushroom-based foods, has maintained a fully integrated production and direct sales system for over 40 years through Japan Biological Science Co., Ltd. and Japan Mycological Research Institute Co., Ltd., founded in 1984.
