Beastars anime was made by Studio Orange to deliver possibly the best anime of 2019 (and the best 3DCG anime I've seen). I had quite a bit of fun making this video as now i have 3D software I can mess with to make Legoshi (or legosi) do cartwheels so I hope you like watching it :)

Fun fact - foxes lack muscles in their face that allows wolves and dogs to snarl. Foxes cannot curl their lips the same way, and just kinda gape their mouths and cough when they're angry

The 'smoking Legosi' joke is so funny to me because there ACTUALLY IS a drawing of him smoking, from Paru's debut manga Beast Complex

the animation in Beastars is incredible and it really nice to look at its cool to see what makes it what it is

That motion capture picture, where the guy stands on the table, was posted after season 2 had been announcened and, if I remember correctly, had them ask if people could guess what the project was. I am pretty sure myself that that is from the recording to season 2, mainly because that is what they are working on right now, but also due to the posture the guy is having looking a lot like the way Legoshi's posture is too.

I am still disappointed that many people dont want to watch Beastars because it is a "furry anime" and it is 3D

2:15 I REMEMBER THIS COMMERCIAL It was a PSA for smoking and would always show up on tv around 2015,

Just wanted to point out something about the voice acting: having the voice actors record before the animation is actually the standard for most of the world(doesn't matter if its 2D or 3D). Japan is one of the few places that do it after. I definitely agree that them doing it before for this helped with the overall story, though.

WHY DOESNT THIS HAVE MORE VIEWS???? I like learned s much in this video and I'm so so happy I did. Beastars is the first thing that I love so passionately and to know the effort put into it and just all this information makes me so happy.

In 2D animation it's more common to record the audio first. Then the animation can be tailored to the feeling of the voice. It's only really crappy or cheap animation that records after (or dubs, which is a different story.)

@ 4:20 - Quick correction! I'm a professional 2D animator, and the pipeline in terms of audio recording for 2D and 3D is the same. All animators typically collect their audio before animating, that way we can correctly time our movements and lip sync to our soundtrack.
