It’s a Sunday afternoon in Edinburgh, Scotland, and the first really heavy rain of autumn has arrived. ⛈️🍂🏰

It’s only 1:30 PM, but the sky is so dark that it almost feels like evening. The temperature has dropped to 12°C, the rain is absolutely pouring, and the Old Town has that moody Edinburgh atmosphere I love.

But the weather certainly isn’t stopping anyone 😂☔ The Royal Mile is still full of people exploring the city, umbrellas everywhere, while others simply pull up their hoods and carry on.

The sound of pouring rain splashing off the Castlehill cobblestones and hitting umbrellas is pure bliss! It’s so funny how a torrential downpour never stops people from enjoying the Royal Mile. I really enjoyed your walk through Edinburgh during that first heavy autumn rain. The combination of the wet Royal Mile, dark clouds, shiny cobblestones, and warmly lit shop windows creates such a special atmosphere. 😊
I especially like that you simply let the rain speak for itself instead of filling the video with narration. You hear the raindrops, see people walking through the streets with their umbrellas, and for a while it almost feels as if you were there yourself. At 12°C and with rain like that, though, you definitely need a little Scottish determination! 😄☔
Edinburgh seems to show a completely different side in the rain — quieter, more mysterious, and somehow incredibly cosy. Thank you, Sona, for capturing this grey autumn afternoon in such a beautiful and atmospheric way. 🌧🍂❤
