Omg I had to pause the video so that I could share my “aha” moment. I love what Michael shared about composting rather than throwing out all of the teachings I grew up with that are errant. One of the most difficult parts of my deconstruction journey was feeling like my foundation of faith had crumbled and that I had to throw it all out instead of realising God met me in my mess and I didn’t need to throw it all out. I just needed to compost it into new lens of kingdom theology

I loved this conversation. I really liked how Michael puts things in perspective. I’m actually going to combine the 20-minute intentional time with Trinity and in that time, ask the questions that Jason posed - God show me who you are, and show me how you see me.

WOW his testimony could've been written y my older kids. I grew up in a pretty unstable environment, so I went the extreme route when I "found Jesus" as a pregnant single ex gang member 😅I also relate to your mom, I said the sinners prayer soooo many times. Like every time it was said.
Got disillusioned with the church when they abandoned us after my ex husband (a home church elder who cheated and left his homemaker, homeschooling wife and 4 homeschooled kids) left us. Stopped going to church but still loved Jesus by the time my kids were early to mid teens. They now have to wrestle with the heretical stuff they grew up with (I had them memorize the shorter chatecism as teeny little kids) and the new found freedom I'm discovering on my journey to an always good, kind, loving Father as portrayed perfectly by Jesus!🎉

Every single time I listen to a RGwT episode and some says something along the lines of ,”I started rethinking God…” I just can’t help but say to myself, …”with tacos?”

What a beautiful conversation! May I also recommend a book that Brad Jersak recommended: Hearing the Heartbeat of God byMicheal Neelley. I am finding it greatly helpful through these things.
