Is the Ramayana merely a religious tale, or are there still existing sites reminiscent of this ancient tale?
In this video, we will travel to Trincomalee and Devrumpola in Sri Lanka, where local traditions link two extremely mysterious locations to the Ramayana—Kumbhakarna's cave and Sita's footprints.
Did Kumbhakarna really sleep in a large cave like this?
Are the natural formations at Devrumpola actually Sita's footprints?
Or is there a story of natural geography and centuries-old folk traditions behind them?
Throughout this series, we attempt to understand 15 mysterious locations associated with the Ramayana based on history, local traditions, archaeological information, and available evidence.
Note: Where verifiable historical/geographical information is available in the video, it has been excluded, and religious traditions and local beliefs have been presented as they are.
