I've done a good bit of car camping in my Subaru Forester, but I recently have upgraded my setup and have things working the way I want them! In this video I show you a simple car camping setup in my Subaru Forester.

One of the best & most practical setups I have seen.

I like the idea for the propane stove to keep it from tipping over.

I found a privacy pop up tent for changing clothes and even taking a shower. Might be more comfortable for changing clothes. It's very affordable and packs up small. Great setup! Love that you custom made the bed platform.

I really appreciate your video!! I have gone from planning an RV, to a van, to a minivan, but then I realized my Forester is almost paid off and plenty of people seem to use them for camping. I am not going to attempt building a sleeping platform so I found a guy on Etsy who builds several versions and suggested the low adjustable platform would be the most comfortable for a Forester. I am glad you showed that a lower platform works. I am 5'1' (female). Thanks again!!

That corner of the sleep platform. I put a light chain and carabiner up to the headrest metal support could have used paracord maybe. But i can climb in from any direction. Thank you, Ray.

I have a Forester too and have recently been watching a lot of car camping content. Loved the video, will definitely have to try the bungee cord trick!

I have a 14 without the sunroof unfortunately but I'm definitely going to use this bed set up! Thanks for making this!

Nice & simple.
I am trying to avoid building a platform that needs to be stored somewhere when not camping.

Had to search how to detach the middle seat belt, perhaps you could mention it in the next video. Good job BTW...

I have been camping in my Forester for 1.5 yrs and keep the seat behind the driver usable. I did do the platform for the bed and extends all the way across the back (I'm female 5'4" so the bed is OK. But, I keep my fridge and other stuff behind the back driver-side seat. That way I can hang out there in the evening or morning, and can change clothes there. I have 3 containers under the platform for gear, plus a rooftop box. My Bluetti lives on a wooden box under my head/pillow. I completely copied from a video on Adventuring With Amanda from last year ("Van Life in a Subaru Forester and Tent") with her friend Gary. He actually had lots of good ideas in there.
